Our weekend in pictures, a little diary of what we get up to at the weekends together.

Saturday 22nd April 2017

This weekend was a well needed weekend in the garden. We have some big plans for the garden coming up, but it means we have to work hard.

First job of the weekend was to add some trellis to the fencing. Don’t worry I will be painting this!!

Tyler was over his friend’s house on Saturday, so we only had the girls to keep busy. However they were no problem at all, they were quite happy getting stuck in helping us, and finding bugs.

They are also loving being able to make their own lunch as well. Tyler was never bothered about doing it himself, however the girls request they do it themselves! Quite handy when we are really busy, they can make my lunch too!!

Quite happy in the bushes clearing the weeds!

Love kids imaginations, Lily made a smiling face from the sticks!

We were going to get rid of this sandpit this year, good job I didn’t, they spent about 2 hours solid playing together with it.

I had to take a picture of this…..Kev said to me ‘this is quite satisfying creating a new flower bed and planting it up’ I never thought I would hear that!!

Our new little flower bed, I wanted to save some plants from the garden and these bluebells were so pretty. Hopefully they won’t mind being moved and will come back better next year.

Sunday 23rd April 2017

Tyler returned from his sleepover, and once we had done swimming lessons it was time to attack the other side of the garden……It’s a jungle, and very overgrown. However take a look at what it was like when we moved in, before.

Everyone was happy……for a little while!!

I’m not sure if this was a normal size wasp we found in the house, but boy it was BIG!! Look at Sofias face when she came to check it out!

We managed to clear all of this……this is going to become a seating area with a new flower bed, and a little grass area.

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram I also post a daily picture, and at the end of the year I put them together into a Photobook.

  1. Looks like you had a nice Easter break. Lovely photos! (As a dog lover, it’s funny to see how many photos Gus managed to sneak his nose into frame!) Thanks for sharing, Mike 🙂

    • Oh he is such a poser, loves having his photo taken and has learnt the sound of the camera turning on!!

    • So I, I even said they could go on them at one point as they had been outside helping so much, but they were quite happy outside with us.

    • It was really nice to be at home this weekend, had some busy weekends so it was well needed

  2. It’s great when you can enjoy the garden! I love your bluebells, I hope they survive the move x

  3. I’m loving all the time in the garden and getting some gardening done – a great skill for children to learn too. I recently planted some new flowers in our garden and they’re already looking rather sorry for themselves. I’m useless!

    • Yes ours loves digging too, but on the wrong parts! Like the new bit of turf we have put down!!

  4. You are doing such a great job it already looks lovely and I love the sandpit that looks fun, my boys would love that too. Looks like you had great weather ours has been awful! Thank you for linking up to #PointShoot

    • Oh no sorry to hear your weather was terrible, it makes being outdoors so much easier when it is nice

  5. I love your idea of posting about your weekend in pictures. It looks like you were super busy. I wish I could get posts out quickly to be able to do this. Our sandpit may not be revived quite so easily. It has a broken leg and some very suspicious sand in it

    • I’m really enjoying doing the weekend in pictures too, nice little diary of what we get up too. You should have seen what was in the sandpit after the winter!! I think they had managed to grow their own wormery!

    • Thanks, hopefully make it a space where we can relax after all the hard work is done!

  6. Woweee! You guys we’re busy. My mummy wishes she could get me to weed for her. We’re not fans of wasps either. Good luck on the landscaping x

    • A mixture of both! The twins did loads with us, although I think digging the mud out was their favourite bit!! Like a giant sand pit!

  7. Whata beautiful weekend had with the family. I also am su jealous and loving your garden and getting the kids also into helping maintain the garden also.
