Pallet herb garden
We often use herbs in our cooking so the thought of lovely fresh herbs right outside my back door really appealed to us.
So I got my thinking cap on and started googling and hunting Pinterest (I love that website!!)
So collected a very large pallet, these are super easy to find and companies are usually getting rid of them for free. Mine was plain wood so I painted it up with the same paint as I used on my fences and got hubby to attach it to the wall.
I purchased these little silver pots from ikea, only 6 of them to start with. Hopefully I won’t kill the herbs!!
and got hubby to attach them onto the pallet, although your see how I have attached them at the bottom of the wood, well since using it that isn’t the best place to attach. It means they angle down and when watering them the water easily runs out! So tip is attach higher up!!
Fill with soil, seeds and water!
Now I thought to myself as I was planting the seeds
‘how am I meant to know which herb is in which pot’
How did I not think of this problem before……!!!??!! Needing the labels that day and not wanting to purchase any I had to think of using what materials I had. Well hubby was cutting a tree down at the time so I took a few small branches and cut to size. Then sliced a flat section off so I was able to write down the herb name.
Success and I think they look really sweet!!
Here it is after a few weeks, coriander is doing very well!! I’m looking forward to filling it up with even more pots and herbs.
