Mother’s Day Gift Guide 2019

*I was sent these items to be included in this gift guide, however, I would only share items that I love myself.

Elizabeth Shaw Luxury Biscuits

Oh gosh, these are SO tasty! My kids know I love a cup of tea, it’s my to wind down, relax and to take 5 minutes. Couple that with a biscuit, even better. Then throw a chocolate one into the mix and boy that’s me sorted!!!

These Elizabeth Shaw chocolate biscuits can be purchased in major supermarkets like Sainsburys and Tescos for around £1.75, and to be honest with you I expected them to be more than this. They’re so nice and my favourite has to be coconut and hazelnut.

Keep an eye out as they are currently doing The Elizabeth Shaw Combinations Tour #BiscuitsOnTour

Winter Rainbow Pom Pom Hat – Buff – £34.25

I never realised a good quality winter hat could make such a difference until I tried out this Buff rainbow pom pom hat. The moment I got it out of the packet it was so soft, thick and cosy and I couldn’t wait to try it out on our walks!

As it’s 50% wool and 50% acrylic it’s really really cosy and warm, I don’t think I’m ever going to be cold on our walks again and I think I might kit out the whole family in their hats for next winter.

Solid Wood Door Stop – The Sugar Shed – £50

Mother's day gift guide

If you’re looking for a personalised item, how about a personalised wooden item from The Sugar Shed. Based in the Lake District The Sugar Shed print your own photos on pieces of sustainably sourced hardwood. Each piece is hand finished to create a unique item.

I decided to go for a solid wood door stop which has been printed with our own personalised message on. I went for ‘Moore Family’ as I plan to have this place in the new extension family kitchen space.

Finished off with a large metal ring to carry it around, this is a large statement piece and would look amazing in pretty much any home. I could have even had text, a map, or photo printed onto this

Afternoon Tea – BuyAGift – £34.99

I love afternoon teas, it’s such a good excuse to take some time out for a couple of hours, in a lovely setting and some tasty food. I decided to take my Mum along with me this time, we don’t often get to go out on our own, let alone for afternoon tea in a manor house!

BuyAGift have afternoon tea experience packages that allow you to give them as a gift but the recipient can then pick for a selection of venues to visit. We decided to visit New Place Devere Hotel, it’s such a grand place and the staff were all lovely and made us feel very welcome. Apart from the Salmon sandwiches being a bit dry, it was a very tasty afternoon tea.

Personalised Gardening Tools – Getting Personal – £22.99

I love my family garden space since we renovated it last year, it’s such a peaceful place to sit with a cup of tea but it also needs to be looked after better to keep it looking tidy and relaxing. But I need the right tools for the job if I am to keep it nice and tidy!

When I spotted these lovely wooden gardening tool set I thought they will be perfect for me. With wooden handles that can be engraved with your initials, it makes them even more personal.

Check out the Getting Personal Mother’s Day Gift Guide for more fantastic ideas.

Personalised Candle – Getting Personal – £14.99

Another great item from Getting Personal is a scented candle, I love candles and love lighting one in the evenings to make the room smell nice whilst I am finally chilling out at the end of the day. This candle has an approx burning time of 40 hours, which is a lot of evenings! It’s a very fruity smell, with lime, basil and mandarin which is very nice.

I love that you can add a message to the front of the candle too.

Insulated Tumbler – Klean Kanteen – £21.99

Having a hot cup of tea is one of life’s pleasures! When the kids are young you don’t get those opportunities very often! So how about an insulated tumbler from Klean Kanteen. It means you could make your cup of tea and it will keep it warm up to four hours and for the summer it will keep your drinks cool up to 20 hours.

I use mine when I am at my desk working as it keeps it warmer for longer. Pick from five different colours, this is sea crest. They also sell reusable straw sets which work well with these tumblers.

Dash Cam – NEXTBASE – From £49.99

When I was asked about a dash cam for my Mothers Day gift guide my first reaction would be it wouldn’t fit well, however, the more I thought about it the more I thought yes it’s perfect. With us Mums having to run around with the kids so often with clubs, school and social events with them, means we’re on the road a lot.

Having the peace of mind knowing that everywhere I go will now be recorded makes me feel much safer. There are so many unsafe drivers on the road and you hear the stories about accidents being done on purpose, it is scary. I now will have it all on film and that’s very comforting.

This NEXTBASE 212 dash cam (£69.99) records at 1080p with a 4 hour record time on a 32GB memory card, but with loop recording, it carries on recording even once full. I love the super easy magnetic connector so it’s easy to take in and out each time and the fact it will detect movement of the car and will automatically start recording.

Cookbooks – Dairy Diary from £7

I love a cookbook! I love sitting down and planning what dinners we could pick from them, and its good for the kids to take a look through and pick ones they love the look of too. I received two great cookbooks which are great for families, filled with tasty foods that we could easily make on our busy days in the week.

I love that these Dairy Diary cookbooks had lots of lovely clear pictures of each one, this is important to me as I want to see what the foods look like, well what they are meant to look like!

Flower Power Biscuit Tin – Biscuiteers – £30

Mother's Day Gift Guide

If you want to treat someone to some super luxury biscuits then you need to take a look at these stunning biscuits. Biscuiteers biscuits are such a treat, not only are they beautiful, they taste amazing too. They offer so many different designs to suit your recipient’s style and occasion.

I instantly fell for these bright colour flower biscuits, they looked large enough to enjoy with a cup of tea too! When they arrived they were packed so well, each layer had a cushion between them and a small blob of icing under each one to keep them in place. I wouldn’t hesitate to have these sent in the post as a gift, they are so well packed.

Biscuiteers flower power biscuit tin comes with a selection of individually iced biscuits in chocolate flavour. From large to small flowers with little leaves around. Those little leaves are very easy to eat!

Priced at £30 for this set. It really is something I would happily receive as a Mother’s Day gift and would feel very spoilt.

Critically Endangered Socks – £12

Socks are one of those necessities in my life, my poor family have to put up with my socks appearing around the house all the time! I hate wearing them! Well, that was until I received a pair of Bamboo Critically Endangered Socks! They are SO soft and so comfy. You won’t find these ones being left on the floor.

The socks are made from a much more sustainable blend of bamboo and cotton and come in five designs so you can pick your favourite. I was sent these limited edition pink Sumatran Elephant sock. Each sock has a different animal stitched on its side and shows which animal they are supporting.

The pink Sumatran socks are a partnership between Critically Endangered Socks and The International Elephant Foundation. For every Elephant pair that’s bought, they work with the NGO to provide 2 days of care for all Sumatran Elephants in a CRU camp.

They’re also launching a range of baby socks soon with the aim to protect some of the world’s most critically endangered baby animals. How lovely would it be to gift a pair of these to a new baby, head over to their website for more info on this.

Spa Day Experience – Red Letter Days – from £39

What better way to spend a morning for two friends who are Mums than a Spa Day experience! I was lucky enough to be able to head off for a very relaxing morning with Red Letter Days and experience one of the spa packages. We had the Blissfull Spa Day For Two which is currently on offer from £113 to £55. There were a lot of locations to choose from on the website, so make sure pick a location before you order as there are lots around.

With our package, we visited Macdonald Botley Park Hotel and Spa, Southampton and two 25 minute spa treatments were included. The staff were very friendly. welcoming but also kept it very calm and relaxing.

We had a facial and foot treatment which both were very nice. Using ELEMIS products we were both left with lovely soft skin and felt very chilled. After a little while in the spa lounge, we headed into the pool area. Here you will find a sauna, steam room and a nice sized pool to use for as long as you want. We spent about 2 hours here before our bellies started calling!

VonChef – Gold Wine Glasses and Cooler – from £13.99

We are due to start a house extension this year and I am looking at different colour schemes all the time! I can’t make my mind up, but one that I keep coming back to is gold. I really love the look of gold for interiors and I am going to try and bring this into the new interior.

I saw these lovely wine glasses in brushed gold on the VonChef website and thought they would look so lovely being displayed on a shelf or glass cabinets. Coupled with the wine cooler as well it makes a lovely set, I am looking forward to a nice glass of something yummy in the evening in these glasses.

Wine glasses are £16.99 for two and the wine cooler is £13.99 from the VonChef website

Three Mills Reserve Wines – Asda – £3.23

Of course, you need something to go in those lovely glasses! So why not try the Three Mills Reserve wines that come in a White, Rose or Red. These are lower alcohol wines are great if you want to cut a bit with a 10.5% ABV, so you can still enjoy a little treat!

Head to the website to find out more about these wines

Purple High Waisted Leggings – Love Leggings – £13.50

I’m a Mum to a fluffy dog as well as a Mum to 3 kids and I need to wear comfy clothes is a must really. You won’t find me walking around in heels and office wear. So give me a pair of comfy leggings and I am sorted!

I was very happy to receive a pair of purple high waisted leggings from Love Leggings. I know with leggings you really do have to be aware of the quality of them, how thick they are and how tight they would be. I didn’t need to worry about any of those with these leggings. They’re so comfy and the high waist is a perfect height, they sit nicely on my Mummy tummy and doesn’t let it hang out too much!

There were no worries of them being see-through as well, no pants showing!! Priced at £13.50 these are a great pair of leggings and I think I will be ordering more of them as they come in a range of colours!

Baylis and Harding Bath Set – Victoria Plum – £12.99

I always remember getting my Mum these when I was a teenager and was going off out into town by myself. I think they make a lovely set and always displayed so nicely.

This lovely set comes in rose gold and pink colouring which I love straight away, includes a body wash, body cream, bath soak crystals and a body polish puff. It smells wonderful and looks lovely in the bathroom too!

Procoal Moisture Sheet Mask – 3 pack – £13.99

After having my facial at the spa I am going to make a point of looking after my skin more, not only for it to look better, but it’s good to give yourself a bit of self-care regularly. We always make sure everyone else is OK and well looked after but it’s usually us that gets missed.

These moisturising sheet masks have a blend of botanical extracts and powerful antioxidants that will give my skin a well-needed refresh, and a very easy thing for me to do in the evening on my own in the peace and quiet. Each pack comes with 3 masks and each mask has 25ml of serum in one sheet! Also, this is great to know that the sheet mask is completely free from Parabens, Silicones, SLS, Mineral oil and Paraffin.

Pimernel Wrendale Mug and Tray Owl Set – Portmeirion – £17.50

This adorable mug set is so cute! Portmeirion has a lovely range of mugs to pick from but this range of scruffy animals is the cutest. I think I will be having lots of little cups of tea in these and placing a few of those lovely biscuits from earlier on in it!!

I love how it comes in a little gift set with a matching tray and tied together with a ribbon. I think my Mother in Law would love to receive this for a Mother’s Day gift

Head to the Portmeirion website to see more of their cute designs

So which Mother’s Day gift was your favourite? Let me know below what one you would love to receive on Mother’s Day

  1. Great ideas! I always really struggle on Mother’s Day as I really spoil my Mum at Christmas and her bday is Jan. Usually run out of things to buy.

  2. I am struggling to choose one from your list, we got the same biscuiteers and love them, the afternoon tea is always a treat for us.

  3. Great gift ideas Steph. I love that rainbow pompom hat so much. I also would adore to go for an afternoon tea I will have to look up some that are local to me.

  4. From someone who no longer has a mum, Mother’s Day should really focus on the person rather than the gifts … or the Afternoon Tea, which is both! I always arranged an afternoon tea for my mum and dad on Mother’s Day. I miss them

    • Ah I am so sorry for your loss, and yes you’re right it’s always more important to spend time together instead. My Mum really enjoyed her afternoon tea so was it a good choice and I am sure your Mum and Dad loved it very much
