For the past month I have reviewing the Gtech AirRam K9 Vacuum Cleaner, being a busy household of 5 plus a puppy I need a decent vacuum.
I am always using my vacuum, from crumbs to paper, sequins, mud and grass it is never ending!
I saw the Gtech AirRam K9 Vacuum Cleaner advertised on the TV and it looked fantastic. To me it looked perfect!!
After using this vacuum for a month the main functions that appeal to me are
CORDLESS
Yes you did read that right, this upright vacuum is cordless. You can pick it up and take it anywhere with you, it comes with a handy handle for carrying around.
You can see from the picture below that the on/off button is in easy access and can easily be turned on by a push of the button. Much easier than having to find one with your foot!
LIGHTWEIGHT
Now you may think I struggle to carry my vacuum around. Not this one, it is super lightweight, I can easily carry it up the stairs one handed with any struggling. It only weights 3.8kg, that is the weight of my 11 week old puppy that I carry around in my arms!
As it is so lightweight it is very easy to push around, carry out to the car, up the stairs and down to the garden shed if you want to!
With my old vacuum I have had to get my hubby to carry it up the stairs as it was far to heavy for me to carry, which meant I would forget to vacuum upstairs if I hadn’t arranged hubby to carry it up. Not any more!
COMPACT DUST COLLECTION
My expectations of the compact dust collection wasn’t high, I could not see how a small, lightweight vacuum could hold much dust, I did expect I would be cleaning it out often and it wouldn’t hold much.
I was very wrong, this small dust collection container holds so much. It compacts the dust down to little bales of dust, this is a fantastic ideas as you do not get the dust cloud that you get when you open up normal vacuum bags or cylinders. As myself and the kids have asthma this really appeals to me. Please see the video below for a clip showing how easy it to empty the dust collection and how compact it has gone.
Gtech AirRam is fitted with lifetime washable filters, meaning that you don’t need to purchase replacements. As this is the Gtech AirRam K9 and aimed at pet households it comes with ‘refillable’ lavender scented filters freshen the room as you vacuum, leaving your home looking and smelling clean. This gives off such a lovely smell and if your carpets end up smelling doggy then these would be lovely. You are able to purchase these extra from their website for £9.99.

LONG RUN TIME
I also didn’t have high expectations of the run time either, it states on their website that it has a run time of 40 minutes. I tend to do shorter uses of it, use it little and often. I have been very impressed by the run time, the Gtech AirRam has 4 little lights of the front of the vacuum. 4 lights means it is fully charged and will then flash red when it is due to run out, you will then have a couple of minutes before it runs out.
You could say this is a downside to this vacuum, you do have to remember to charge it. Otherwise you could be half way through vacuuming your house and it runs out.
CHARGING
Although charging is very easy with only a 4 hour charge. It comes with its own adapter which is a standard plug, you can plug it in directly to the vacuum if you have a socket near where you store your vacuum, or you removed the battery easily to charge away from the vacuum. As you have the handy lights on the front of the vacuum you can see when it is getting low and needs charging.

You really can feel when using the vacuum that it is getting right into the carpet, which shows in the clean dirt free carpet once you’ve finished!
EASY TO MOVE AROUND
It has such an easy turn on it, you can push it around into corners, under sofas, under tables and around in quick movements. This makes it such easy quick work!
I would recommend this vacuum to anyone who has mobility issues or finds pushing the heavy vacuum around. Coupled with no cords to trip over this is a great vacuum for then.
It has a solid but comfortable handle to hold, it is very easy to tilt back, you just put your foot on the main vacuum section and lean back. No fiddly buttons to push down on or find!

I love the idea of the dust bales. Emptying the vaccum isn’t a job I do usually as the clouds of dust tend to set my asthma off!
