After a quick visit to the shops at Whiteley, I wanted to give the kids a chance to have a run off. However we didn’t want to travel too far. It popped into my head about the Fairy Tree Burridge, this was on the way back from Whiteley. So we headed off, with 3 kids who didn’t have a clue where we were going.

We parked up at the Horse and Jockey pub, which is great for stopping off after the walk for a drink! Once you arrive look for this entrance, it is sign posted National Trust River Hamble.

The walk started off with just a simple path to follow through the woods, following it along the river.

Kids being kids found excitement and fun in anything they can, from following different ‘paths’

After amount 15 minutes of walking, we came across the fairy tree! Like I said we didn’t tell them what we were going to find, so when we came around the corner and saw this tree, they couldn’t believe their eyes!

Lily said ‘I thought someone was hanging out their washing Mummy!’

The fairy tree is amazing! The fairy tree is covered in ‘treasures’ that children have brought along with them to give to the fairies. So don’t forget to bring along some treasures to leave for them! We will be back again with our treasures, the girls have already been making them something.

We were stood here for about 15 minutes looking at all the treasures around the fairy tree, there was little notes left in the post box. Also someone had left the children a little note from the fairies too.

This is a nice little walk, and one that little kids could happily do too. Once they know the fairy tree is there, I am sure they will be bursting to go back again with their treasures.

The fairies, elves and pixies of Wishing Tree Wood tell the Guardians of the Tree they are so happy that children from across the world have had so much fun finding this enchanted place. They love the special gifts and letters that the children leave and have cast their magic dust to help keep all their friends safe and happy.

  2. This tree is so amazing. I absolutely adore it. I wish we had something like this near to us. I would have loved this when I was younger. I love the decorations. A lot of thought has gone into this. Thank you so much for linking to #whatevertheweather x

  3. A fab little fairy tree to find! I love how many hanging decorations there are, so much love from little kids. I bet your kids are looking forward to their next visit taking their own treasures back to hang in the tree. I love it when we discover new things on walks, always makes it a little more exciting, wondering what we will find next. Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x

I love how you didn’t tell the children about the fairy tree so it became like their discovery. they look thrilled with what they found. Talking of hanging out washing we do in fact have a fairy washing line in our fairy gardens and the kids love making the clothes to hang out on it with mini craft pegs. I hope you go get to return with your craft treasure to add to the tree. thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

    • Ah I bet the kids love making the fairies little clothing! Maybe were have to make a little washing line and clothes to take to the tree!

  9. What a lovely idea. I love how the tree has been added to over the years with treasures from children and how nice that someone has taken the time to write a note back to the fairies. #whatevertheweather
