Last night I slipped down a memory hole on YouTube, looking at our past videos and some of the family vlogs I used to create. I find having those videos that I’ve created so precious to me and I love them. I sat and watched our Center Parcs Longleat vlog, and smiled as I saw the kids laughing, and hearing their little voices. It wasn’t that long ago, but they’ve changed so much already.

I could pull out the video and easily watch it, and search for the post on my blog, but where are all the photos stored? Can I easily get to those photos? No is the answer. They’re stored on a hard drive somewhere, which is stored away.
I need to bring these memories to hand easily, to make me smile when I need it

Creating Photo Books

I love photo books, I have created a few over the years when we were doing our Project 365 photo a day challenge. I had 1 special photo from each day, and I printed these all out into a photo book at the end of the year. But again I don’t have them to hand, I don’t have a shelf in the house where I can store them all, somewhere I can place these photo books and just pull them out when I want to look back at the fun times we’ve had.

We take so many photos but we never print them. How about taking a photo every day for a year and then putting them all together! A great way of keeping memories and photos of the family. The project 365 challenge is a great way to create family memories and enjoy them together.

Displaying Your Images

Another way to get your memories out of storage is poster printing them. Think BIG and why not! Or if you prefer the prints unframed, then you could go big with canvas prints as that makes a great impact.

A cosy living room with a beige corner sofa, patterned cushions, framed photos on a mauve wall, and a floor lamp offers a subtle Pink Living Room vibe. A flat-screen TV sits on a wooden stand beside an open door revealing another room.

I went through some of my favourite images I have taken of us and picked a selection of ones I loved. I wanted them in a black and white version to go with some old fashioned frames I had collected together. These all worked lovey for our lounge and I printed them out BIG! and I adore them, they hold some lovely memories, and are mostly taken at our favourite local beach by us, which makes them even more special to me.

A pink wall displays several black and white photographs in gold frames, arranged gallery style above a beige sofa, next to a window with sheer and dark curtains.

I think my challenge this year is to start printing my photo books again and get those memories off my computer and into a photo book. I also need to find a place to store our special things and display them again.  I think maybe a new built-in furniture challenge might be heading our way for the lounge next year!!!!
