Are you looking for an air filter that goes that little bit extra? Then you need to take a look at my Briiv air purifier review to see how this little product certainly goes that little bit further and is also the world’s most sustainable air purifier.
Briiv air purifier will create clean, safe air in your home or office, it maybe small, but it’s packed full of amazing natural technology that is going to seriously impress you. I was so impressed when I found out fully how the Briiv air purifier works, and how natural and sustainable this air purifier is. So lets dig a little deeper into this product.
Briiv Air Purifier Review
Why Do We Want Cleaner Air
Clean air creates higher energy levels, better sleep, and improves cognitive function. My daughters have asthma so the fact that air pollution is linked to an increased risk of respiratory conditions, and that Briiv works to remove pollutants from my home is fascinating to me.
I thought of air pollution as traffic and workplaces, but tiny particles are released into our homes daily from everyday items like cooking, candles, molds, and pets.
How Does The Briiv Work?
Briiv air purifier has 3 different sections that stop the different air pollutants, the first section is the greenery, a glass dome filled with reindeer moss. The fan in the base of the unit pulls air through all 3 of the filters. The moss will then trap in the pollens and allergens, then down to the coconut filter, this will then trap bacteria and molds.
Then you move down to Briiv’s secret weapon……their combination silk matrix bespoke filter. This combines both elements of activated carbon which pulls odours from the air, cleans the air, but also makes it smell better too. Then the nanofibres remove the finest harmful particles from the air, unlike HEPA filters that are produced from microfibers.
What is amazing is that 1 Briiv Air Purifier is as efficients as having 3043 houseplants in your home!
The filter at the bottom is so easy to replace, it’s all self-contained in the filter box, so you can just slip it out and replace it with a new one. These should be replaced every 3 months when you’re using the Brivv Air Purifier daily, or you can use the app to track actual usage.
The smoke test blew me away, you can see how the Briiv air purifier cleaned the box within a minute and the smoke was nowhere to be seen.
Why Is The Briiv The Worlds Most Sustainable Air Purifier?
Briiv has been awarded The Red Dot Award 2021 for Product Design for their unique approach to sustainable and eco-friendly innovation and a seal of quality in regards to aesthetic and functional product design, and I can see why this product is won this.
The Briiv air purifier has been designed with products that can easily be biodegraded down, the natural filters can be added into the garden or your compost bin when finished, and it doesn’t need watering!
Even when it comes down to the plastic casing for the electrics part, it’s made from oil-based plastics derived from elephant grass. This crop captures carbon and fully biodegrades. Standard plastics can only be reused a few times before they have to go to a landfill.
Briiv is made in the UK, this helps creates jobs in manufacturing, cuts down on traveling, and keeps everything built in-house so it’s all made smoothly.
Cheap To Run
Even with today’s electric prices, the Briiv air purifier is cheap to run, you can see from below using these rates that it only costs £2.02 a year to run this for 6 hours a day!
This then leads onto how long do you need to run this for?
Briiv will effectively improve the air quality in a 36m2 living space in just one hour. So it’s not something you have to have running all the time to make it efficient and work in your home.
Small and Portable
Being easily portable you could move it around to different rooms of your home if you’ve been cooking with strong smells, or the dogs are stinky! If the children are struggling with the pollen, you can pop this in their room and help to clean their air.
I have placed mine on my desk so I can have clean air whilst I’m working. I think it will help me be more efficient and productive, and I think it looks lovely here.
Blends In With Your Interiors
This is what I love about the Briivv air purifier and how atheistically pleasing it is. You don’t look at it and think it looks like another gadget on the side or an ugly air purifier. Its clean simple design, allowing you to see the filters and natural products being used means it’s nice to have out on the side. It’s not something I want to hide away in my home.

What’s In The Briiv Air Purifier Box?
It’s all contained in a lovely-looking box, which arrived securely and well wrapped. If you’re thinking of purchasing this as a gift it would be really nice to receive.
- One glass dome
- One bag of moss
- One coconut filter
- The electrics section
- One air filter
- Power cable which is either USB or a plug attachment
- Instructions
Putting together is really easy, as you just need to set the air filter up, by making sure the pleats are moved along nicely to cover over the gap.
Here you have a little spot where you can place the date the filter was fitted, you can purchase new filters on the Briiv website.
Then all you need to do is place the coconut section in first, then the moss, and place the dome over the filter, and you’re ready to go!
Once turned on it’s ready to start working. There is a warning in it that during the first 12 hours of use that it will smell, and yes it does but don’t panic it does go away and stop smelling!
There are 4 speeds, the first one is really silent, but as soon as you start going up you will find it gets pretty noisy. So it’s great if you want a quick blast to clear out the smells or you’re struggling with the air quality, but to have it on in the background it’s a bit much on full.
The Briiv Smart App
The Briiv smart app comes with the air purifier, this is a smart app that can control your air purifier on the go or set timers and schedules. This sounds really good to be able to do, as you could set up the schedule when you’re not at home so when you get back your home is full of clean air.
Also, you can track the use of the filters so you know where they’re running out, and need to purchase some more. This is really handy as it all depends on how much you use the air purifier.
I’ve not been able to use this smart app as the app has a bug issue for me at the moment, but Briiv is currently in the process of designing a new app and I look forward to using that one.
Briiv Pricing and Overall Thoughts
Briiv is priced at £299 for the full set, this includes shipping the first set of filters. You can purchase the 3-month filters for £18, and then after a year, you can update the moss and coconut filters with a set that will then last you another full year for £34.99. This is such a big impact product, well thought out I think it’s worth it.
