Who loves to make an effort for the Christmas table? Fancy putting together a Gold and Green Christmas Table this year? If so take a look at what I included on our table last year to make it Christmassy and keep space for a Christmas table for 12!

A festive Green Christmas table is set with gold cutlery, plates, serviettes folded like Christmas trees, glasses, and green, gold, and white decorations. A decorated Christmas tree with lights glows in the background near a window.

I like the table to have a plain background that is the same all the way along, so purchased a cotton tablecloth in a beige colour. If your table is the same colour throughout you might not need it, but mine is wood and white. It warmed up the white colour as well and makes everything have warm tones.

I then started with the main piece, the garland that ran along the length of the table. I knew I needed to keep space around the edges for seating everyone, but also to make it look nice all the way along the table.

A Green Christmas table features gold cutlery, black-rimmed plates, and napkins folded into Christmas tree shapes. The centrepiece displays greenery, small trees, fairy lights, and gold baubles on a cream tablecloth.

The garden has frosty green foliage throughout it, and the main branch of brown twigs! I wanted to add more to it to give the Christmas table garland more height and interest within it. So I added in little Christmas trees which come in various heights and sizes, they looked super cute. By adding lights to the Christmas garland, you gave even more interest to the table.

We had a mishap one year with candles on the Christmas table, so I added these tall battery-powered candles to the gold candlesticks! They were really effective and looked great tucked into the Christmas table garland. They lasted hours and hours, so no worries about the battery running out.

We did have to stick a bit of blue tack into the bottom of them to stop them from wobbling around in the bottom of the candlesticks.

Next up was how I put together the place settings. The plates are from Denby and the Halo collection in a dark blue and specked pattern with a shot of gold. These are such good quality, and a special set for us to use, but chunky enough for us not to worry too much about being too delicate.

We use the gold cutlery every day, but it’s a lovely set and I love how warm the gold cutlery makes the gold and green Christmas table, tieing in the gold elements to this Christmas table.

Tablemats are our everyday ones, with gold patterns on them, these were a present a couple of years ago.

I sprayed up a bauble place setting holder that I previously had, these were silver but using Ronseal spray paint is great for little craft projects like this. Adding a place setting that I made in Canva very easily, using a 5 x 3cm sizing template.

Obviously, the Christmas tree napkin is the final finishing piece for this gold and green Christmas table, I just followed the instructions videos , using an iron to keep it in place and I did them before Christmas day and stored them ready to place on the table.

Everyone really loved this when I put it together on Christmas day, it was nice to make it extra special and make it feel super Christmassy for everyone.
