Last time I spoke to you about how to dress your wood windows, you all came up with some lovely ideas and thoughts about my suggestions. In this post I am going to show you an amazing makeover, using wooden windows.

Yes this is the same house! This just shows you how wood windows can transform your house, and will make the house look and feel much more beautiful.
Unlike PVC-U windows you have a choice of colours, this house has used one colour on the outside and a different colour on the inside. On the outside they have used a lovely soft grey, but on the inside they have a used a colour that co-ordinates with their interiors.
If your like me, and you keep changing your interior colour scheme, then the wood windows can be re-decorated to suit your colour scheme. It is so easy to ignore your windows when you can’t change them, but when you include wood windows in your design choices, they can be like a beautiful piece of furniture that you want to show off.
You have so much flexibility with wood windows, once you have chosen your colours, now it’s time to pick your hardware. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for modern or traditional, they have plenty to choose from that suits your style.
This type of makeover is something I would love to get my hands on. Up until I started this project with Wood Windows Alliance I would have never considered wood windows, but how could I now not.

Ooh, I love the idea of having soft grey window frames. I’d never considered wooden windows before but will certainly be considering them if we can ever save enough for our own home 🙂
I’m so grateful that our windows are wooden, although they’re so old that they could really do with being replaced. As our house is Grade 2 listed though — and the planners are notoriously ‘difficult’ — I doubt we’ll ever get modern wooden replacements. I think we’ll end up repairing/repainting. I’d love wooden windows and to be able to change the colours internally as we decorated. I have to say that upvc has come a long way and you can have lots of colour options now although it’s a shame we can’t spray it to change the colour.
Something I’m super snobby about is PVC-U windows, I see so many ugly plastic windows being used in beautiful homes and it makes me a bit sad! Wooden windows all the way! I love the colour of these as well.

I’m a sucker for wooden windows and these look stunning! We’ve had nearly all our nasty windows on our Victorian house replaced with wooden sashes, but we still have a few left to do. But your post shows that wooden windows look equally good on a contemporary home, as well as a period home. Lovely! #HomeEtc

Oh I LOVE seeing before and after pictures, those wooden windows are just amazing and totally transform the house!! We did go for uPVC windows when we replaced the ones on the front of our home but I was SO picky to find a company who could specialise in period-finishes to make sure they looked in keeping with the house and they kept us very toasty this winter 🙂 X
