When you find out you’re expecting a baby, it’s so exciting, then you start to plan, buying all the things you need, getting the house ready, and putting together the nursery. But what if you’re renting? Can you decorate the nursery if you’re in a rented property? I am going to give you a few ideas on how to decorate a nursery if renting. But first things first, talk to your landlord. They may let you have free reign on the decorating, or say yes you can but keep it neutral. When I had my son, my landlord said to me yes you can decorate, but paint it back to neutral before you leave, please.
Self-Adhesive Removeable Wallpaper
Wallpaper is an amazing decorating tool to completely change the look of a room within a very short time, although I do find it messy and can cause a problem with the glue once removed. Not great if you’re in a rented property, but Wallpaper Mural sells a self-adhesive wallpaper that can be stuck to the wall really easily, but then also removed easily.
This is perfect for any room in your rented property but even more so for nurseries the children grow up you can change the wallpaper design really easy to keep up with their changes in age.

Range Of Colour Choices and Designs
Wallpaper Mural has a large range of nursery wallpaper choices and designs to pick from, with a dedicated page for nursery wallpapers, but you will get distracted to their other categories too like I did!
Bespoke Colours
If you find a wallpaper that you love but are not sure about the colour, Wallpaper Mural offer colour changes to match your room on any of our murals for free! I think this is an amazing service, as I’ve always struggled to find the perfect wallpaper pattern in the perfect colour, so this service is brilliant.
Fun Rainbows
With the rainbow wallpaper, you could have so much fun in the room with all the different colours, so many paint choices go with this wallpaper and you could give it an instant splash of colour into the room.

Bleu Watercolour Tie Dye
This one has a lovely watercolour style in a tie-dye design, and I loved the idea of having the walls painted in a blue that picks out one of the colours.

Hibiscus
I’m tempted by this one for my lounge, I love the shot of pink, with the green of the leaves and the little shot of yellow to bring my gold in. Look at all the lovely pinks you could paint the walls with!

Abut
If you’re looking for more neutral wallpaper choices, you could pick this black and white wallpaper and bring in a warming beige colour into the walls. Also, don’t forget you can pick the colour choice of this, so could have a bright colour in this pattern.

When you’re looking at renting, make sure you check out all the different rental agencies like https://renthero.co.uk at all the types of the rental as they will all have different rules on decorating, but I hope this has given you a great way to decorate your nursery if renting, allowing you to personalise the room to your own colour choices, and also no need to worry about the removal of the wallpaper at the end of your tenancy.

We are so fortunate to have a very lenient landlord who has allowed us to make any changes we have asked for. Though we kept painted walls for our Son as a baby we are now looking at adding some wallpaper now he is a little older to brighten up and really personalise his room.
Ah that’s brilliant, so nice to have a landlord like that
It can be a little trickier to decorate if it’s a rented home. The removable paper sounds like a good idea. I would have loved a cute mural in the nursery.
Great way to make an impact isn’t it
I love the idea of removable wallpaper, especially for nurseries and children’s rooms. We painted my son’s room a neutral colour and used removable stickers.
Thats a fun idea too, anything removable when you want a change is great
Oh these are beautiful colour inspirations for a nursery. The wallpaper is such a fun idea too, I particularly love the pink one with the flower!
Yes I am tempted by that one!
