How to make a photo booth - Renovation Bay-Bee

I LOVE pictures, I love the stories they can tell and memories they make.

When I decided I wanted to have a birthday party for mine and hubby’s big birthdays I knew I wanted to add something to do with photos!

I knew I didn’t want to be the one that went around taking photos of people sitting and drinking and being forced to smile all night!

So I decided that I wanted a photo booth, a bit of fun and laughter but capturing those memories of who was there on the night.

You can hire a photo booth but I wanted to the challenge of making my own…..and of course mine would be a lot cheaper!

I already had my camera to use……

I needed a tripod
A remote camera cable for people to press to take the photo
Props

I found things from around the house in the kids toy boxes!

Joker’s Masquerade sent me some items to include, they went down very well with silly spotty clown hats, a blonde bombshell wig and waving hands head bands. Take a look at the photos below of them in use! They sell lots of fancy dress items on their website that you could include.

I got some great items from a Tiger store, we have one in Whiteley

Cardboard cut out glasses, mustache, bows, lips and various shapes on a small stick, these were good fun and looked good in the photo booth but they are also really cheap! I didn’t get any pictures of them on their own before they were used but here is me with one of the glasses!! They work really well in the pictures.

I then made the speech bubbles which went on lolly pop sticks, again they put a smile on people’s faces!

The day after the party we sat down and went through 200 photos of everyone!! It gave us a good giggle but also we now have some fantastic photos of all our friends and family!

Here is a selection of some of the great pictures that were taken! Just make sure you go around and let everyone know the photo booth is there and make sure you get the reluctant ones over to the photo booth, it wasn’t until we looked back we realised there were some people who didn’t do it, including me and hubby together and my mother in law!
