I don’t know about you but all this cold weather is making me want to visit somewhere warm and sunny! I could spend all day looking at villa holidays, dreaming of laying by the pool in the sunshine, with the kids playing in the pool and warm evenings.
However when it comes to going aboard it isn’t as easy with kids, you have so many things on your list of requirements, and things you need to think about. You need to pick a country that is family friendly, with activities to do around, places to visit that interest both kids and adults and the accommodation needs to be suitable for all.
I decided that I wanted to look into villa holidays in Greece, it came up a few times in my search for family friendly countries to visit. With beautiful beaches, blue sea, stone villas, interesting places to visit and there are some good deals to be had too!
I picked a villa because I want to escape and relax, I don’t really want to go on holiday and have to fight for a sun bed or have other people around us, and sun bath with my Mummy tummy out in front of them! Downside is that you have to still cook, or go out to eat.
First up, here are my requirements for villa holidays to Greece for my family
- Air Con
- Family friendly property
- Reviews from other people
- Flight time from UK
- Private outdoor pool
- Near the beach
- Internet
- Sleeps 5
- August summer holidays
- Around £2000
ClickStay had 581 properties for me to choose from based in Greece for 5 people for a week in the summer holidays, this was without adding any of my filters and requirements in. So I then filtered down what I wanted, and then had 23 to choose from. This really helped narrow the choice down, because it can become over whelming if there are too many to choose from. Prices listed below are for 1 week 18th-25th August 2018.

We are looking at villas to hold all our family, so this is very helpful.

I think Greece is such an interesting place. I love visiting the old towns, with cobbled streets… just beautiful.
I love Kefalonia and haven’t been there since I was a child. I would love to go back and villa holidays are perfect for us as we have a large family
My best friend is from Cyprus so I have always wanted to go to Greece! I think Clickstay has some beautiful properties and I know what you mean about dreaming about warm weather x
I love that air conditioning is your number one…mine too! I don’t like the hot weather, so this is a must. I’ve also never been to Greece, but it looks like a stunning place to visit 🙂
I would love to be in that villa in Greece right now. Oh for the warmth of the sun and a glorious outdoor swimming pool!
Oh wow this looks amazing! We are hoping to hire a villa next year, it’s great to have your own space!
Ah Greece. It’s so beautiful. We have been to Corfu and Lefkada but we are yet to visit any of the places above…hopefully soon as it’s such a great part of the world to take a holiday to. These villas sound and look lovely
I love a villa holiday and find it perfect for children, to have the flexibility. Off to dream of sunny days!
This is a nice guide! It seems you have it all figured out when going on holiday. You could always have considered South Africa’s sunny wildlife resorts. It’s something to behold! Maybe when your kids are older.
