With the summer nights fast approaching we’ve been out in the garden getting it ready to use. I’ve missed the garden so much over the winter, so I’m thinking of long summer evenings outside now. I find just sitting in the garden with my husband in the evening is so relaxing, gets you away from the household jobs, and the telly!
So what with all the restrictions in place for meeting friends and family, the best place to meet them is in your garden right now, but I want it to be an inviting place to spend time with them, so have been making sure it’s all tidy and now thanks to Lights.co.uk it’s all lit up for the evenings too.
Lighting in the garden transforms the space, it makes it super interesting and a really pleasant place to be in the evening. If you have a busy lifestyle having a space to retreat to is so important, and being able to use your garden as an extra room is amazing, we light up our inside rooms so why not light up outside as well! We all know how important it is to try and use solar energy where we can, and it’s really good to use solar panels in your home and use these solar incentives to power your own house. So when it comes to using solar lights in the garden you are using the power that they have access to all the time, so make the most of it!
What Products Have I Used For Lighting Up The Garden
Delivery from Lights.co.uk was really quick and efficient, and everything arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition.
* Menorca Solar Lamp *Solar Deco Stones *Lindby Lampini Solar String Lights *Pedas Solar Table Lights
You can see all 4 different items in the picture below, the Menorca floor lamp behind the sofa, string lights hanging on the screening, decorative stones in the flower bed and I popped the table lights around the swing chair.
I am so pleased with them, they all light up the garden in different ways, in different areas, and add real interest to the garden. We do have main garden lights that can light up the garden fully, but these all give off such a warm glow for lighting up the garden, and it draws your eye around the garden too. I will go into a little bit more information about each of the products to help you learn more about the products.
Menorca LED Solar Floor Lamp
Now floor lamps in the garden aren’t something I thought I would love, it’s a bit quirky, a bit interesting to see outside but they work amazing out here. We treat our garden space as an outside room, so to have these Menorca floor lamps outside it now looks like one.
They arrived in a small box that you need to put together, but it isn’t tricky or too heavy either. The polling system goes together, with the lampshade attaching to the top. However, before this, I recommend you charge them up first. With a charger/USB cable included, you leave them to do the first charge up. You can use these indoors as well as outside, so being able to charge them up for that is great, but this gives them a good head start and then the sun can keep them charged up using the solar panel on the top for outside use.
The base is the heavy part and it’s sturdy enough to stand this outside and be fine in some wind. However, we did have some strong winds recently and they didn’t look like they would be able to stay standing, so I did bring them in to keep them safe.
The controls are on the underside of these lamps, the rectangle button to switch to indoor and outdoor, a small dot button to circle through the lighting options, and a hold to turn off.
Standing at a height of 150cm they’re the perfect height, and you can’t really see the solar panel easily on the top of them either. I like how the grey stands match the sofa nicely!
These are also colour changing solar lights! You have many colour options to pick from, as well as the normal warm white colour which all can be dimmed to suit your lighting choice.
Warm White on full lit
Pink at full light
You can have a range of 7 different colours which can either be permanently on or circling through them softly. There is also 3 levels of brightness of warm white as well.
This can either be operated by the buttons underneath or by remote control. The only issue I’ve had is I really would like to keep the same setting on for the next night, I love the glow of the warm white and when I turn it off on warm white, the next night when the sun sets enough it will automatically turn it’s self back on, and when it comes on it’s on circling through the colours! I would prefer a little more control over when they do come on as they are very bright in the garden and I do have neighbours close.
Apart from that I am over the moon with them and love how it feels so much more like another room to the garden.
Lindby Lampini Solar String Lights
We’ve recently put up a piece of screening that will allow my climbing plant to grow over this, but along the top, I have hung 1 pack of solar string lights in the shape of plain light bulbs, and the little string lights inside the bulbs and I think they look really sweet up there!
We just used little cable clips to attach the wire to the screening, and screwed the solar panel section to the wood on the top of the screening out of the way. They didn’t take much charging to light up when we first installed them, and are just bright enough along this section to look lovely.
With 10 little bulbs along this section, it’s enough for this area, but you wouldn’t be able to string them too far. The power cable has quite a decent amount after the 10 bulbs, so you can position it very easily to capture the sunshine.
Solar Powered Deco Stones Flintstone Set Of 2
These solar deco stones stood out to me straight away as they are so different and I hadn’t seen anything like this before, and I had the perfect spot for them!
I received two sets of two as I wanted them in both of my garden planters, however, once I received them I wish I had some more. These four filled up my planter nicely spread out, and I could do with some more for the other planter on the other side now!
These are frosted glass, which gives a lovely finish and warm soft glow to them. When they get wet they go more clear, but as soon as they dry out they go back to frosted glass.
I think they look cool in the planters in the daytime, let alone at nighttime!
As my planter fills up with flowers throughout the summer there will be less open space for these little lights, but I think they will look brilliant with the light glowing up through the plants.
Pedas LED Solar Table Lights Set Of 10
These cute little solar table lights are perfect for decorating your outdoor table to make it look like you have some candles lit.
They’re amber in colour which flickers to create a candle looking light. But I’ve popped them around my new swing chair as I thought it created a nice little area with them around your feet.
You could use them to line a pathway, lined up on a wall around your seating area or dotted around the table for some table lighting.
They were very easy to set up, just pulled the metal bottom off them and switch to on and let them charge up in the sunshine using the little solar panels inside the plastic glass area. Being plastic this is a great idea to have instead of candles if you have children, as the flame is fake and the clear area around them is plastic!
Overall Thoughts
I have been super pleased with the quality of these lights to start lighting up my garden for the summer evenings, I think it’s going to be such a super place to spend some time in and I hope we have lots of dry evenings to get outside and enjoy them. The quality and delivery were brilliant from Lights.co.uk and I would love to use them again as they have a full range to cover all your home lighting needs.
