Christmas day morning I set up my Christmas Day table, I set it up for 12 people and I was really pleased with it.
My family table only seats 6 so we had to pull in the garden table to extend it to fit everyone on.
It was a lovely day and it was so lovely to have everyone together.
Even though it nearly ended up with the house going up in flames!
After dinner we were busy enjoying opening the presents and watching the children’s faces, when we smelt smoke……….turned around to find the table on fire, table-cloth melting and my bauble table name holders on fire!
The little card name tag had fallen over and caught on fire!
This was the outcome……..it has burnt down quite deep.
It is only a piece of furniture, no one was hurt and it could have ended up being a lot worse.

You are right. It could have been a lot worse…. but owch! Will it sand off??xx
It’s quite deep, so I will have to sand off quite a chunk of wood off the top to get rid of it.
Oh gosh! You were lucky it wasn’t anything more serious!
