Five years ago we visited Warner Bros Studio for Tylers 10th birthday, and last month we visited again for the girls 10th birthday! It’s somewhere they’ve wanted to visit for a while since getting into the Harry Potter books and films so we thought it would be a great birthday treat.

Make sure if you want to visit on a certain date/month you book way in advance, it gets booked up months ahead.

Getting to Warner Bros Studio is very easy, we travelled from the South and it was about 5 minutes off the M25 and very well signposted. The car park has been well improved since we visited, lots of parking for everyone and we had no trouble parking.

Entering Warner Bros Studio

The entrance has really changed since we visited and when we got through the ticket booths the girls were greeted by a massive dragon hanging from the ceiling! Their faces lit up straight away and I knew they were going to love their day here.

A close-up of a large, detailed dragon with beige, textured scales, spiky horns, and open mouth showing sharp teeth, set against a background of mountains and a blue sky at Warner Bros Studio Tour London.

I loved the way the queuing system works at Warner Bros Studio, I wish all attractions put so much effort into their queues! You’re passed along through different rooms where you wait, each room has something to look at. Then you go into a room where a staff member shows you videos from the cast and production team to build up the excitement of your visit. But also it’s a way to let you know the safety rules and how to find your way around the studios.

The last room is a cinema room where you can sit down and watch a video about the Warner Bros Studio and the cast members chatting about their love for Harry Potter. You can see some large doors in this room and this is where you enter the Warner Bros Studios!

Top Tip; If you or your child has a birthday then you can go forward and push open the doors!

A row of headless mannequins dressed in Hogwarts uniforms and robes stands by a long table, with a woman gesturing in the background inside the castle-like Warner Bros Studio Tour London.

The Great Hall

I love the impact the first room gives you, it’s the great hall and the girls loved it! With the long tables up the sides, costumes and characters for you to see up close.

Me and Kev aren’t massive Harry Potter fans like the children, but we still really enjoy it there. It’s amazing to see the work that goes into building these sets. I was blown away by how amazing the ceramic tiles were, they weren’t ceramic but made to look like it!

Mannequins dressed in vintage suits stand in front of a building façade with large curved windows and shiny red and black tiles, reminiscent of London architecture. A glass orb with blue light is displayed to the right, echoing the magic of a Studio Tour.

The first area hasn’t changed much since we last visited, the girls enjoyed this area as it was full of different things to look closely at, information for them to learn about the films and how they created scenes.

A cosy, medieval-style room with vintage armchairs, a large fireplace, ornate rugs, paintings on stone walls, and headless mannequins dressed in casual clothes—just like a set you’d find at the Warner Bros Studio Tour London. A backstage dressing room at Warner Bros Studio London, with illuminated mirror bulbs and shelves displaying mannequin heads wearing various styled wigs, including curly, straight, and one with a feathered accessory. Perfect for your Studio Tour London experience.

A young girl looks at a museum display case filled with fantasy props, including a golden hourglass, a large sci-fi ray gun, crystals, and labelled items on a purple cloth during the Warner Bros Studio Tour in London.

People walk beneath a grand staircase surrounded by framed portraits on dark walls, evoking the magic of the Harry Potter films. Blue lighting enhances the atmosphere, reminiscent of the Studio Tour London at Warner Bros Studio.

I love the potion room!

A dimly lit, medieval-style potions classroom at Warner Bros Studio London features stone walls, wooden tables filled with cauldrons and bottles, shelves lined with glass jars, and a robed figure standing near the back. A dimly lit laboratory with shelves of bottles, bubbling cauldrons, and test tubes line a wooden table—reminiscent of a fantasy potion-making scene at the Warner Bros Studio Tour London.

Also, keep an eye out for the sorting hat hidden in one of the rooms in this area, it took the girls a while to see it but it would have been a shame if they had missed this.

Green Screen Area

Once you’ve spent time in this area you can then go through to the motion area and green screen area. You can have a go at flying on a broom in front of the green screen, creating your own flying video and pictures! These pictures are £20 for two photos or one for £14. We got the flying car one with Tyler last time, so this time the girls got one each. They loved their photos!

Warner Bros Studio has placed a few different photo opportunity areas around now, these are for paid photos that they take. But they’ve also added in little areas where you can take your own photo like these ones.

Forbidden Forest

Then we came across The Forbidden Forest, this is a new area that we’ve not seen before and it was great! A bit spooky for little ones but you don’t have to walk through this area. If you don’t like spiders don’t walk through this either!

Hogwarts Express Train

We saw the Hogwarts Express train which was amazing to see up close. Warner Bros Studios have set up the carriages inside to represent each film. The girls loved this!

Eating Her

If you’re looking for something to eat or a snack then you can stop off at the cafe. We needed a coffee and the girls wanted to try Butterbeer! It really isn’t the cheapest place but these type of places are never reasonably priced but at least the girls can say they’ve tried Butterbeer.

Sofia loved it!

Lily like it!

Outside Area

Here you will find the big purple bus and Harry Potters house that you can see inside.

If you’re carrying around heavy bags or personal items, it can quickly become cumbersome. To make your day more enjoyable, consider using Radical Storage. With their convenient locations near Warner Bros Studio, you can safely store your luggage while you explore the magic of the Harry Potter sets without worrying about your belongings. It’s a perfect solution for those travelling before or after a visit to the studio.

Masks and Make Up

Then you go into another area of the Warner Bros Studio and you will find more of how they made the faces and details. The girls found it fascinating seeing all the different masks up close.

Gringotts Bank

WOW! This area is very new and only opened in April but it was amazing. It is very hard to show it off well in pictures but it was amazing. To think that the marble isn’t real marble and it’s just such a brilliant job!!

There are a few areas to look at here, everything is so sparkly!

The next area was totally unexpected, I heard someone talking about a dragon…….it was this dragon!

What happens with this dragon is amazing and we all were blown away by it (literally!) So I’m not going to show you him and ruin the surprise!

Diagon Alley

This was an interesting place for them to spend a while, looking in all the shop windows and taking it all in.

Hogwarts Castle

When we first visited Warner Bros Studio the final room was not anything like I had expected, to see Hogwarts castle in all its glory and to realise that all the big scenes outside were filmed using this was so clever.  I couldn’t wait to see the girls faces when they walked around the corner to see it.

They couldn’t stop taking photos of it and looking at all the areas of it, then that was it. It was time to go home after a wonderful day together.

I really do recommend visiting Warner Bros Studio London if you’re a Harry Potter fan and even if you’re not it’s fascinating to get up to film sets and see how it’s done. Warner Bros Studio London

If you’re thinking of visiting Florida, Florida is a hot spot and you can see why if you see the sheer size of the resorts. LLC in Florida is very popular because of its low cost and flexibility. I think it’s because it’s a hotspot for tourism and it’s not a common state.

If you’re looking for new places to walk, then head over to my days out post where you can see over 100+ places we’ve visited for some great ideas

Such a great day out! We went last year for my Harry Potter mad daughter’s 8th birthday. She absolutely loved it (as did I!)

  2. I love this! My family is a bunch of huge Harry Potter fans. I love how you can explore the Forbidden Forest as well as get stuck in the Gringotts vault with the doubling Hufflepuff cup. If you ever get a chance to visit Florida, you will love Universal Studios in Orlando. There is a Harry Potter section both there and in the related Islands of Adventure Park. You can take the Hogwart express between the two.

  3. I can’t wait to visit next time we are in the UK…thank you so much for such a detailed walk around the studio and it looks like your girls had a ball…
