Having a dog means you have to go out in all weathers, no matter how windy and cold it is! However it stops you from thinking ‘Oh I will just snuggle up in the warm instead!’ it make you get out, take in the fresh air and a bit of exercise.
We haven’t been down to West Wittering this summer, it’s only about 45 minutes away from us with a huge sandy beach. The kids love it down there and so does the dog, it gives him huge space to run around in. Water to paddle in (he’s doesn’t do swimming!) and sand to dig in!
So I thought I would show you some photos we took whilst down there, we had lots of fun even though we got blown around, rained on and water in our wellies!
Tried to get a family running photo……daughter ended flat on her face!!!

Check out the dog digging behind me!
The waves promptly went straight over our boots and filled up our wellies!
However, we had lots of fun and were so glad we got out.
Although, once the water was poured out of our wellies we thought it was best to get back to the car and warm up with a warm drink and some snacks!

It looks like you had a great afternoon running around the beach with the kids and the dog, it’s great that there’s a space for you all to go out and enjoy together. The shot of you all running down the dunes is great, it’s a shame your daughter fell over on her way down though. It looks like there was a lot of fun had by all on the beach, it’s great that you managed to get some fresh air as a family though. Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.
Aaaaw what a beautiful post, you all look so happy. Well done for braving the weather- you all look like having loads of fun. Beautiful photos too. #countrykids
Lovely photos. We have a dog and sometimes those walks in the rain are a pain but theres those odd days that getting out in the wind and cold ends up being good fun and really clears out the cobwebs!!
This looks like a great place to visit, loving all the photos 🙂
When I was little my favorite place to take out family dog was the beach. No matter what the weather was like! Xx
We love dog walks! Although my dog hates bad weather. Silly thing! He does love the beach though and these shots are fab! I should take more waking mine!
Aww dog walks on the beach are the best, although my dog hates windy weather! Silly pup! You got some great photos! Love the warming up in the car at the end!
Ahh love your wind swept photos they’re great, looks like you all had fun I love the beach in the winter xx
I love West Wittering beach, haven’t been there for years though but I have great memories of it. Your photos are lovely, you all look so happy! We moved down to the coast last year and spend lots of time on the beach during all seasons. There is something lovely about a winter walk on the beach, it’s good for the soul! x
That looks like a great place for a walk! I keep prestering my husband saying that I want a dog for my 30th next year! X
Haha I too love the blooper photo. Such lovely family fun. West Wittering looks so great and you can’t beat a winter outing all dressed up warm with your family. xx #love2blog
Totally gorgeous photos, I read this blog post twice because I loved the photos so much! I agree with you about having dogs making you get out in every weather, it’s fabulous. I’d love to get mine to the beach again but my husband had a motorbike accident and can’t walk at the moment and I’d never manage both dogs and both children on my own.x
Haha, I love the blooper photo. 🙂
It’s one of the things I love most about having a dog is that it forces me out of the house when I would probably just stay inside. 🙂 xx
Great photos, although it looks so cold! I didn’t notice your daughter had fallen at first, bless her!
What an absolutely brilliant day out! I can just feel the wind on my face and you all look so happy. Just fab X
I love West Wittering beach! Its about an hour from us but one of our more local beaches. We always went there as kids too running up and down the sand dunes. Looks like you all had fun there! #brilliantblogposts
