Are you looking for the best laundry basket for a family? Then, take a look at this VASAGLE basket. It has four compartment baskets, which are great for sorting dirty clothes, and plenty of space for all the washing a family creates.

There is no escaping from the amount of washing a family of five creates. I also have two dogs, so they create their own mess and washing! I’ve managed with a couple of laundry baskets in my landing, one for darks and another for lights, and I’ve taught my children to sort their washing into these when placed in there. This helps so much with sorting washing, as you can just grab the correct colours to put in the wash.

A carpeted landing at the top of a staircase with two wooden doors, a family laundry basket, wicker baskets, framed pictures on the wall, and a window with white curtains letting in natural light.

No amount of sorting was going to help with the amount of washing as they’ve grown and now wear adult-sized clothes, let alone the bedding and towels, so it was time for an upgrade. I needed to find the best laundry basket for a family and one that still looked nice in my home.

Upgrade Time To The VASAGLE Laundry Basket

When I spotted the smaller versions of the laundry basket online, I loved how easy they looked, but they were still too small. So I found they did a 4 compartment VASAGLE Laundry Basket version in a white colour scheme. If you’re looking for smaller options, they offer them more in more colour options.

The VASAGLE Laundry Basket comes in full white, which is the option I went for, as well as Rustic Brown and Black.

Putting Together The VASAGLE Laundry Basket

If you’re worried about the item arriving flat packed, then don’t be. It was really simple to put together, everything is supplied and you don’t even need a screwdriver. You can just use the alan key that is supplied in the box.

An open cardboard box on a carpeted floor contains several long, white panels with grooves, secured by foam packaging—perfect for assembling your new VASAGLE Laundry Basket. The box is partially unfolded, revealing the panels inside.

When it arrived in the box, it was pretty big but very flat. I recommend taking it to the area where you will place the laundry basket so you don’t have to attempt to move it once it’s fully built.

Flat-pack furniture parts, including white slats, metal rods, screws, and beige fabric for a VASAGLE Laundry Basket, are laid out on a carpeted floor. An instruction manual and a framed black-and-white family photo appear in the background.

All the items are placed inside the box, and the bags are numbered and matched to the instructions. This makes it easy to follow along.

Three bags of screws and hardware are laid out on a beige carpet next to an open instruction manual, ready for assembling your VASAGLE laundry basket.

First off, attach your feet to the bottom sections. These are just screwed in, and can be slightly adjusted to height, but not much. Make sure all 4 are screwed in to the same depth so it’s not wonky.

Once all four feet are in, you need to attach the long flat top to the ends. Make sure you place the top the correct way around, with the sliding rail pulling forward and the stop plate at the back.

Screw your fixings from the edge into the flat top. This is where you can use either the alan key, or an electric screwdriver. Make sure they’re screwed in nicely and tightly.

A partially assembled white metal frame with slatted panel sits on a beige carpeted floor next to a white planter and a wall, perfect for organising your space as a Family Laundry Basket.

When you’ve attached either end legs, you can attach the bottom support bars. One a the front, and one at the back.

This is your final framework completed, nice and sturdy and ready to attach to the laundry bags.

Adding The Laundry Baskets

Adding the laundry baskets to the frame is really easy as they are all velcro attached. You just place the velcro section over the bar each side, and fold them over to secure.

A cream-coloured VASAGLE laundry basket with a circular handle sits inside a white metal frame on a carpeted floor. Another similar laundry basket is visible in the background.

They are a bit stiff to do this, but press firmly, and they will stay nice and secure.

Do this for all four, and you have them all installed and ready to use!

How To Use The VASAGLE Laundry Basket

What I liked about this laundry basket, was being able to use the baskets to carry the washing down to the machine. Our laundry basket is upstairs on the landing, but the washing machine is in the utility room. So I am often using a large bulky spare laundry basket to move it all around to one place to the other.

The VASAGLE Laundry Basket lets you either remove the velcro basket and carry them down just using the fabric section, or like me, I will slide out the metal frame with the basket attached and carry this fully attached basket down the stairs.

I think this is a better way to do this, as I am not detaching the Velcro each time I take the washing down, which I feel will deteriorate the Velcro over time.

So How Much Can I Fit In The VASAGLE Laundry Basket?

Each basket holds up to 40L, so the total capacity of the four compartments is 160L. I have a 10KG washing machine, and a full-brim laundry basket, which is one of these baskets, fits very comfortably in my washing machine drum with the necessary movement room as well.

Measurements Of The VASAGLE Laundry Basket

  • 116cm length
  • 33cm width
  • 72cm height

Conclusion

This has made keeping on top of the washing so much easier for me and my family. Items are sorted into more similar colours better, I have somewhere for my bedding sheets to go instead of on the floor waiting to be washed, and the children are learning better washing sorting skills.
