Chapman Bags – Perfect walking accessory

This summer we plan on getting out and exploring lot of places around us, packing up a bag and finding somewhere new.

Problem is we have 3 kids and a puppy……you cannot travel light. Drinks, poo bags, dog treats, dog leads, snacks, suncream, hats, sunglasses……then camera! The list could go on and on.

Up until now hubby use to pull out all my son’s items from his school bag and use his bag, not the easiest idea and not something we can just pick up and leave the house with.

So we have been on the look out for a perfect rucksack for hubby to carry, he doesn’t want anything too sporty looking, needs to be comfortable to wear for the full walk and hard wearing. We wanted a rucksack as this meant he had his hands free to help the kids over things and play parks.

Chapman bags made in their Cumbria factory using high quality natural materials of British origin wherever possible. This is really special as it isn’t often you come across British made products.

There is a great selection of Chapman designs online for both men and women, from shoulder bags, rucksack and luggage bags. However if you live close to their factory shop you can also see their large range of bags and showroom samples.

We received the Chapman Large Canvas Border Rucksack which is priced at £225 with £8.50 delivery, so this is a high end product but you are paying for quality and receiving a British made product. This shows as soon as you receive the product. Also if the product isn’t in stock it will be made to order for you.

When it arrived I was really excited to open it, it was neatly wrapped in tissue paper, don’t you just love parcels wrapped in tissue paper?!

As soon as I opened it you can tell the quality is superb straight away, I couldn’t wait to get it out and try it.

I was really impressed with the size of the straps, they are 2″ in width and made from woven military grade cotton webbing, not only do these look comfy, they are comfy. This was really important for hubby, once filled with all the weight of our things he needed to be able to comfortably wear it for long periods of a time.

The pockets are large enough on the front to fit quite a few things in which is helpful to be able to get to quickly. There is a large main compartment which has a drawstring closure, this section is approx 30 litre which holds lots! I am looking forward to being able to fill this up with lots of useful things and being organised on our days out for once.

The only thing I would like added is a security pocket inside this large compartment, a small zipped pocket so we could put keys, phone, and money in so I know that they are safely zipped away.

I love the smell of the leather when you first open up the box, it is trimmed with leather edging and leather straps. The solid brass buckles  finish this bag off beautifully. What I like is that there is a quick release opening on the straps, this is so useful when you out walking and the kids have asked you for something out the bag just after you have just closed it all up!!

The main bag is made from British dyed and bonded cotton canvas, it is also waterproof which is a real bonus to know that if we get caught in the rain then our things will be protected. Nothing worse than a bag full of wet items after a walk to deal with.

I really like this Chapman bag, not only is it stylish, it is super practical, I am sure this is going to last many years and go on many family days out!

Hubby loves this Chapman bag too, he can wear something that is comfortable, stylish but also very sturdy for family use.

This would make a fantastic Fathers Day gift, birthday present or just a treat.
