We have had a lovely chilled out half term, we really needed it! Hubby has been off with a week of annual leave and as we hadn’t booked to go away anywhere we wanted to just go with the flow this week.

We had our kitchen delivered on the Saturday before half term and did think we may start doing some of that, however we miss judged our tradesmen timing and are now stuck waiting for them before we start. However secretly this is nice, as it meant hubby didn’t feel like he had to be getting on with the kitchen instead of going out with us.

My sister from Devon came up for a few days, my cousin and her children met us too and my Mum. It is lovely to get everyone together, the kids get on well and it is lovely to give them a space to run around.

So we picked Hill Head, a large open shingle beach, the tide was out so there was ample of space for them.

There is a free car park off Salterns Road, with a small play area, green area and when the weather is warmer your usually find an ice cream van.

The dogs were pretty happy!

My nephew enjoyed kicking the ball around for Berkley, spot the ball…….

We found a washed up Jellyfish to investigate,

They explored, wandered along chatting together,

Made each other laugh, I love this photo (sorry to my Nephew!) but this photo makes me smile, my Nephew was making Lily laugh by wearing her hat, Lauren was giggling with Sofia. It is a very cute photo, they are lovely kids and even at 15 and nearly 13 they are happy to be with each other and to have a laugh together.

We stayed for over 2.5hours, watching the sun going down and the beautiful sky above.

  1. Lovely that you could get together somewhere so beautiful, your photos are just stunning! I love that they all get on so well and they don’t worry about being older, but still have fun together, silliness included! Plus that gives you time to relax as they chat amongst themselves. Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather πŸ™‚ x

  2. This is so beautiful. It’s so lovely that you all got together and enjoyed your time on the beach. Especially when all your little ones get on so well. Some adult time to chill and some kids times to explore. Your photos are so stunning. I can see why your favourite photo is that one! It’s so lovely. 7. Gorgeous photos – it looks like such a lovely place to visit. Our dog is always at her happiest when she’s running along a beach! πŸ˜‰

  8. Looks like a lovely place. Anywhere that involves the beach is always a winner from me! We’ve had lots of washed up jelly fish down here too!! X

  9. Your posts always make me feel a little homesick. Hill Head was my local beach until we moved to Devon at Christmas. It’s not the most scenic, the water can be grey and it’s blinking exposed on a windy day, but it will always be the beach of my childhood. Your pictures make it look fab! #countrykids
