Have you ever taken your pet on holiday with you? We often take Gus with us when we go away in the UK, but we have never thought about taking him on a holiday abroad with us. There is so much to think about when it comes to taking the family away with you, let alone the cat or dog. I think Gus would need his own suitcase for the things he needs too!

Check out this checklist below, which gives you some great ideas on what you need to think about when taking your pet abroad with you.

A fluffy white dog sits on a lead by the entrance of a modern wooden house with vertical panelling, next to a door with frosted glass and a sign that reads “Casterbridge,” evoking the charm of Sykes Cottages in Upwey Dorset.

If you’re planning on going away, but you can’t or don’t want to take your pet with you, there are many options to think about. If you have family or friends who would happily have them, or even a pet sitting service. There is also the option of kennels or catteries to look after your pet, where you can chat to them about the things they do to make the animals stay nicer, more comfortable and the activities they do with them.

Don’t forget to take along their favourite toys, and ask lots of questions to make sure your pets stay is the best it can be.
