If you have read my lounge renovation post you would have seen my new corner sofa, and you would have realised how much I love my new corner sofa!
We had a dark purple 3 seater sofa, with a large armchair before. We purchased this when the twins were newborns and it worked nicely for us then. Since then we have moved house twice and it just didn’t work for us as a family, and the room of our current house.
We picked a large corner sofa, it fills up two walls of the room, it did mean a move around of the furniture and a new colour scheme (any excuse!) but it has changed our life! It sounds really silly to say that but it really has. It has changed our family time together, our social time and changed the whole feeling of the room.
So I thought I would give you my top 5 reasons why I love my corner sofa
Space
Our corner sofa has created so many more seating spaces, we are a family of 5 and can easily sit together on the sofa now. We have space to put our legs up, chill out, snuggle up and just spend time together. We can all watch a film together without being piled up on each other! As you can see from the picture above, even the dog can be close to us and involved.
Corner section
We all love the corner section of the corner sofa, it is a race to this section to see who gets it first! I don’t know what it is about this section but it feels so cosy!
Being able to easily put your feet up
What usually happened come an evening is that I would put my feet up on the sofa, usually onto hubbys lap! However with a corner sofa we both can put our feet up. There is room for both of us, which has been lovely to feel relax. Hubby sits with his back to one end of the sofa, and I am the other. Or if we want to cuddle up, we both meet in the corner section and use each other to snuggle up on.
Sociable
It makes such a difference when our friends come over, everyone is in a group, no one feels left out, and you all can talk easily. The shape of the corner sofa creates a little half circle, we easily fitted 6 adults on our sofa. What I love is that we can place a small table in the middle of the rug, load it up with food and drinks and every one can get to it easily. Once the kids get a little older I might get a coffee table as this would work really well with a corner sofa.
Cosy room
Having a corner sofa has made the room so cosy, it has created a more circular feeling in the lounge area of our lounge diner. It has made the lounge section feel more like a lounge and much warmer feeling. We have added cosy throws and cushions to all snuggle up on too.

There is always a race in our house for the corner spot too! Even our 20 month old loves to climb up and snuggle in the corner, she knows that’s prime position! #brilliantblogposts
oh this is exactly what we want! We currently have 2 separate 2 seaters but would love a big corner sofa for the reasons you have written about. I think they are far comfier and mean you can all snuggle up together in the one space! 🙂

Ooooh I love your corner sofa. We don’t have one and I really want one but for some reason my other half doesn’t like them! Which is strange as we currently have a three seater sofa with a footstool which he loves. Anyway brilliant post and they are all the reasons I want one.

I love our corner sofa (knackered though it is now) even if I don’t use it properly according to my husband. I sit on the sticky out bit and put my feet on him still. Well its nice to be connected right?! Yours looks lovely though!
Wow! Now I know I missed a trick, three children and one sofa plus a man chair…. I forgot children grow, lots of room for family time….. Without the popcorn right? You’ll find those little nuggets of goodness down the dose of the cushions a month later!

That is a fantastic sofa! We have a sort of curved/corner sofa which is the only sofa that we’ve ever had and I love it, it’s so nice that we can all sit on it at the same time and I think that it makes much better use of the space.
