This year, Our Christmas table decor has had a glow-up with the help of more indoor Christmas lights and foliage, so I will share with you all the items we put together to achieve this look, and my top tips for planning your Christmas table decor.
I have put together our Christmas table set for four people, but what I love about this Christmas table decor idea is that I can expand on it as well. I am hosting 11 people this year, so we will be extending the table out on both ends and filling it up with people everywhere! The centrepiece allows me to fill up the middle section without having too much depth, but also adding more items to it, to make it extend a little longer to fill up the length a little more.
Add this 1.5m Pre Lit Eucalyptus & Laurel Christmas Garland to the table to create some natural-looking interest, this time I have filled it with candles and little Christmas trees, but you could add anything you want to this, as it makes a great base. Adding colour from flowers, baubles, garden berry foliage, and Christmas-themed ornaments.
I used two of the garlands to create this look, by tying them together at the ends and twisting them together, they naturally fell into this figure-of-eight style, which really worked on the table. Allowing me to fill in the gaps with candles, but also you can bend the foliage around to fill in areas you want to.
With the garland being pre-lit, the lights have already been added to the garland for you, making the lights really discreet and pretty in the foliage. With battery packs at one end taking 3 AA batteries each, you can hide this battery pack under all the foliage! They last for a good amount of time, and if you make sure you use the best batteries for fairy lights then they will last even longer.
I picked up these sparkly Christmas trees from B&M which is great for little extras to your Christmas table decor at good prices, leaving you to invest in items like the candles which you can then use all year around elsewhere in your home.
When I picked these TruGlow star candles from Lights4Fun I was pretty blown away by them when they arrived, they are so realistic, and the candles are made from hand-poured real white wax, which of course makes them feel like real candles, but just the battery power pack inside them. The wick is a black string which can move slightly, and the flickering flame adds the realness of them. This is a proper candle, just safer! No tables catching on fire (like we had one Christmas!)
These star candles come in a 2 pack which are 2 different sizes, so by adding 4 to the table, I was able to stagger them along, leaving the larger ones on the inside of the garland.
I also went for the TruGlow taper candles to create some height to the table, these are sat in little glass candle holders, but as my pack was eight candles, I will add more to the table when it’s extended, with some at higher levels to create more interest at height. These again are made from hand-poured wax, so they feel like candles but are controlled by 2 AAA batteries. Either by using the button at the bottom, or the remote control that is supplied.
I love that I can use these all year around, and just bring them into my Christmas table decor at Christmas, it’s something that will get used over and over again.
We didn’t have a special dining set for a long time, it’s something that often gets forgotten about, but we purchased one a couple of years ago and I love it. We don’t use it as our everyday set as we have kids, and I don’t want it getting chipped, but it’s so nice to bring out for special meals.
We have the Denby Halo range, which has lovely deep blue, light blue and gold in it, which goes really well with our blue kitchen with gold accessories.
The Ivory tablecloth works really well with these colours as it gives a soft background colour to the garland and lights, it’s washes really well and irons well.

On Christmas day you don’t want to be running around for ages creating a pretty Christmas table that looks stunning but isn’t practical. You need to be organised beforehand and get all your items together, planning the Christmas table decor, what plates, glasses and napkins. So here are my top tips for your Christmas table decor this year.
Top Tips For Planning Your Christmas Table
- Wash and iron all napkins and tablecloths before
- Get napkins all set up in napkin rings or ironed in shapes
- Wash all cutlery and plates if they are special ones in storage
- Think about the length of your centrepiece, if you need people seated at the ends of the table don’t let it run the full length
- Add in height with different shapes and sizes
- Add depth with different items
- Add in lights of different shapes and sizes
- Get all items together in one box or bag, so on Christmas day you can grab it all at once
- Do a trial run to make sure you have everything that works together
- Make sure you have batteries for the lights
- Make sure you have matches for the candles
- If you want name labels, make sure you create these before Christmas day, I use Canva for mine
- Use natural products for scents at the table, or scented products in the room by using a wax melt
- Are you having crackers or you could look at doing Christmas table gifts.
Have a wonderful Christmas day and everyone will really appricaite the effort you’ve gone to with making a beautiful Christmas table decor to make it that extra special
