Our weekend in pictures, a little diary of what we get up to at the weekends together.

Saturday 18th March 2017

We’ve had a lovely weekend, it was my Dad’s 70th Birthday a couple of weeks back so we wanted to get together with my family and celebrate together. I was asked by Sykes Cottages to work with them on a review property, (FULL REVIEW POST) so I thought what a perfect time to celebrate with my Dad and have a weekend away with them. We found 2 stunning properties that fitted my family, my parents and my Sisters family.

We headed off to Upwey near Weymouth on Friday, and we were not disappointed when we arrived! I will do a full review, and video of the property, but for now here is a couple.

A modern house with stone and wood exterior stands behind a lawn filled with blooming yellow daffodils; a person is visible near the sliding glass door in this weekend in pictures.

They had popped in a disco light bulb and added balloons around too, what a great touch.

A modern living room with red sofas, a bean bag, black dining chairs, colourful balloons on furniture, and a sunflower painting on the wall—capturing the spirit of Week 15: a weekend in pictures. A staircase is visible in the background. Modern kitchen and living area with white cupboards, stainless steel appliances, red sofas, a glass dining table, potted plants, and balloons on a sofa—perfectly capturing the vibe of week 15 for our weekend in pictures. Large windows let in natural light.

Upwey is a lovely little village, close enough to everything but away from everything that you feel very relaxed. We had a walk around the village, exploring what was about.

A clear stream flows under a small stone bridge beside a stone wall, with green grass and blooming yellow daffodils along the banks—an idyllic scene from week 15’s weekend in pictures, surrounded by trees and shrubs on a cloudy day. A narrow stream flows past green vegetation and trees, leading towards a white house with a thatched roof partially hidden in the background—capturing the tranquillity of Week 15 in this weekend in pictures.

Played with their Cousins in the garden.

Five children enjoy outdoor play on a gravel area near a grassy field during week 15. While three kids sit or lie on the ground, two are kneeling or standing, with a picnic table and walking paths visible in this weekend in pictures.

Hubby was amazing and cooked for 15 people! My cousin arrived with her family to celebrate with us for the day, it was so nice for my Dad to have everyone around him.

A group of thirteen people, including adults and children, sit around a dining table in a kitchen, smiling and enjoying a meal together—a joyful moment from our weekend in pictures, Week 15. Plates of food and drinks are spread across the table.

We headed out to Maiden Castle for a VERY windy walk together. Maiden Castle is one of the largest and most complex Iron Age hillforts in Europe – the size of 50 football pitches!!

Two people walk along a narrow, grassy ridge under a cloudy sky, with rolling hills and open fields stretching out in the background—a perfect moment from Week 15 for our weekend in pictures. A group of six people, including adults and children, stand on a grassy field under an overcast sky. Captured during Week 15, most are facing away and looking at the landscape, whilst one person walks ahead alone. A person with long brown hair, wearing a purple jacket and jeans, sits on an old stone wall surrounded by green grass, their back facing the camera—capturing a quiet moment for this Weekend in Pictures.

So lovely seeing the cousins chatting away together, perfect spot to sit and have a chat don’t you.

Then we drove down to Weymouth beach, a lovely big sandy beach for the kids to run around on. Gus was so pleased chase his ball, and get a sandy nose!

Of course you can’t go to the beach without an ice cream……

and bumper cars!!

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram I also post a daily picture, and at the end of the year I put them together into a Photobook.
