Our weekend in pictures, a little diary of what we get up to at the weekends together.

Saturday 1st April 2017

Well today started off with salt on my toothbrush as the kids played an April fools on me!! (Same one each year, so it came as a big surprise!!)

Then we got out in the garden, we’ve neglected the gardens over the winter, and should have got out their earlier but it’s been too cold, or too wet. Or we’ve been on holiday!

So when we are out in the front garden, the kids like to ride their bikes around the cul-da-sac. It was one reason why we liked this house, as it was on a quiet road, and space for them to play outside.

A young girl in a bright pink outfit and grey boots smiles whilst sitting on a black pedal go-kart on a paved path, capturing the joy of week 17 for our weekend in pictures, with grass and houses in the background.

We were giving the garage a little clear out, and a couple of years ago we reviewed a go kart. The twins were a little young for it then, and not enough strength in their legs to ride it on their own. So we tried it again this year, and they both love it! I would have loved one of these when I was a child!

It was such a beautiful day today, come mid afternoon we thought we would take a trip to the beach for an ice cream.

Three children sit on a bench by the seaside, enjoying ice cream cones. Two girls lick their ice cream whilst the boy in the middle smiles at the camera. The bright sea and sky complete this joyful weekend in pictures from Week 17.

The bonus of having this 20 mins from our door is that we can head off at 3:30pm and still have a good couple of hours out.

A wide pebble beach stretches along the shoreline under a bright sky with scattered clouds—a perfect scene for a weekend in pictures. A few people stroll and bend near the water’s edge, while grassy patches and a paved path border the beach. People walk along a paved seaside path beside a row of green beach huts, with a rocky shoreline and cloudy sky in the background—a tranquil scene from week 17’s weekend in pictures. A seagull flies over a calm, sunlit body of water with a grassy foreground and partly cloudy sky in this serene weekend in pictures from week 17. The sunlight reflects brightly on the water’s surface.

Sofia accidentally broke her watch and wanted to buy herself a new one. So we popped into Argos on the way home from the beach. Her and Daddy went in with her money, and she did everything herself. She was SO excited!!

A person prints a receipt from a self-service kiosk displaying a “Thank you” message beside a card payment terminal and receipt slot, with shelves of video games nearby, capturing a snapshot perfect for weekend in pictures during week 17. A smiling child with missing front teeth, wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, holds a small black Casio box amid self-checkout machines—a joyful moment from our weekend in pictures.

I suffer with joint problems, and of course that little bit of garden made my back start up hurting badly. When this happens the best thing for me is to rest it straight away, so I headed up to bed on hubby’s orders, with a cuppa, hot water bottle and my laptop. It meant I was able to catch up on some bits though.

*Although this picture has made me go off and dust my laptop!!!!

Sunday 2nd April 2017

I woke up in a lot of pain today, I hate my back. Hubby got up and took the kids swimming, and tided up the house. He does everything for me when I am like this, but I find it so frustrating not helping out.

I was able to sit and drive, so off I went to get his Mum and Auntie from the train station. That way I felt like I was doing something to help.

Keeping themselves amused whilst waiting for the train by raiding the glove box!!

A woman and two young girls sit in a car. The woman smiles at the camera, while the girls, both wearing sunglasses, pose playfully in the back seat. Sunlight brightens this cheerful weekend in pictures scene. Two older women and three children stand together smiling in a garden with green grass, flowers, and a brick building behind them. This joyful moment from week 17 captures the group looking happy and relaxed for the weekend in pictures.

Poor Gus is still recovering, however his cone is so big and with more people in the house we popped on his blow up ring!! At least he could sit in the garden with a chew, and have a rest from the cone.

SUNSHINE! Wahoo! It was so nice to be able to sit out in the garden, and watch the kids playing.

But after all the sun and running around, Lily just fancied a cuddle with her Mum. Please don’t grow up little ones.

If you don’t already follow me on Instagram I also post a daily picture, and at the end of the year I put them together into a Photobook.
