I’m so terrible at getting to sleep at night and I struggle to switch off. I think of every possible thought once the room is dark, run through everything that’s happened, a stressful thing that is happening or even happened months and years go. I just don’t understand why I do it, and I can’t switch off from doing this! I really do think it affects my mood, my motivation, and many things I do in my life. I just struggle to fall asleep quickly, so something has to change.
Scentered is a mindfulness lifestyle brand that got in touch with me with a set of products that I feel would be really worth a try to help me improve my sleep routine. Their products are all 100% natural which is important to me and as the brand has eco-conscious values, they ensure they minimise their sustainability footprint, but not forgetting their need to help customers with their mental wellbeing.
Aromatherapy As A Way To Improve My Sleep Routine
I’ve never practiced using aromatherapy for mindfulness and relaxation, so I was keen to see what it was like and Scentered kindly offered to send me their SLEEP WELL Wellbeing Ritual Aromatherapy Balm which is to be rubbed on your pulse points in your wrists and neck, a silk eye mask to block out all the light, and their SLEEP WELL Aromatherapy Candle.
I can’t explain to you how amazing that box smelt when I opened it up!!!
How Can Aromatherapy Help Sleep?
Aromatherapy is a form of holistic healing using natural plant extracts to create products that promote your health and well-being. With a large range of different aromatherapies, you can use them to help you in all different situations. Scentered have a range of different types of products which you can use from focusing, de-stressing, happiness and love. You would small amazing all of the time!
They’ve also taught me what the limbic system is. The limbic system is a small part of your brain that processes and collects memories, emotions, and stimulations. You can read more about the limbic system over on the Scentered website, but Aromatherapy is a long-used method of altering or enhancing our mood, and using essential oils which are extracted from plants is the fasted route for essential oils to enter your body. Inhaling essential oils through the hairs inside your nostrils will absorb the molecules and send signals to your brain’s limbic system, which then allows 5 important things to happen to our bodies.
- Relaxation of your muscles
- Happy thoughts
- Boost concentration
- Lower stress levels
- Enhance emotional connection
Scentered Products For A Better Sleep Routine
I have placed the Scentered products on my bedside table as I often go to bed early and then watch telly in bed as I get a lot of back pain, and laying back in bed helps the pain at the end of the day.
This is good for the Scentered SLEEP WELL Aromatherapy Candle as they suggest you light this 2 hours before you go to sleep. The smell is amazing, and every one of my children came in and said how amazing my bedroom smelt. Which shows you it doesn’t have that strong-smelling aromatherapy smell to it. They would have screwed their noses up if it did! I felt it lasted well in the room too and burnt nicely too. This candle is the travel size but you can also purchase a larger version to last you longer.
Next, I was to try the Scentered SLEEP WELL Wellbeing Ritual Aromatherapy Balm which like all the products is 100% natural and is in a lovely balm. It isn’t messy at all and you could pop it in a travel bag without the worry of it leaking. You rub this on your pulse points on your wrists and neck, and it lets off a lovely smell as well as being absorbed into your body. I was worried it would get on the duvet or clothes but it soaks nicely into your skin.
The last item was a Scentered 100% silk eye mask, I’ve never worn one as I don’t like the thought of something around my face, but I gave this one a go as I do hate any light at all when I’m trying to sleep. I will even wake up if I light comes on anywhere outside or in the house!!
Well, it works brilliantly! Being 100% silk it was very comfortable and soft on my face, and it blocked out all the light. So I’m a convert and will happily wear this to go to sleep if it helps me.
Has Aromatherapy Helped Me Improve My Sleep Routine
Yes, it has. I think even the process of lighting the candle and having a room that smells amazing and calming has helped, I do feel more relaxed and it’s something I will keep up with for sure. Pop over to Good Life and Mind as they’ve shared 6 tips for better sleep that also might help.

This sounds wonderful. I don’t think I’ve tried aromatherapy for sleeping purposes, but I do have an amazing weighted eye bean bag thing that works wonders.
That sounds amazing!
I love aromatherapy, I am a big believer in it. I do use lavender in a roller ball, but I would love to try these out. The sleep mask looks super comfy too.
Oh lavender in a roller balls, that sounds lovely
