My daughter S has suffered with allergies ever since she was born; it’s been eczema, milk intolerance, dog allergies, hay fever, which then turns into asthma.
The poor little thing has really been through it; her identical twin has had the allergies, but they have been manageable (apart from the milk intolerance) and never affected her to the same extent as her sister.
When NasalGuard announced they were offering the chance to try out their new AllergieBLOCK gel, I didn’t hesitate for a second — I jumped at the opportunity to test it out on S. I’ve always been on the lookout for something gentle and safe, something that’s completely free from drugs and all those harsh, chemical-laden ingredients that can sometimes do more harm than good. The idea of a simple gel that could help reduce allergy symptoms without any medication instantly appealed to me.
The product itself is a clear, non-greasy gel that you lightly apply around the nostrils, creating an invisible barrier designed to block out allergens before they can cause any trouble. It claims to protect against common triggers like hay fever, pet dander, and dust mites, which are all things that seem to affect S at different times of the year. I liked that it’s suitable for adults, children, and even pregnant women, which makes it a versatile option for the whole family. It’s reassuring to know it’s safe for everyone, especially for little ones who might be more sensitive to traditional allergy medicines.
I think this sort of product is perfect for situations where you either can’t or don’t want to use medication to help with your allergies. There are so many people who prefer to avoid antihistamines because of side effects like drowsiness or dryness, and for them, something like AllergieBLOCK could be a real game changer.
What drew me in most was how convenient and child-friendly it seemed. For my daughter, the fact that it’s drug-free really sealed the deal, and I also love that the small tube is easy to carry in my bag or pocket when we’re out and about. It doesn’t take up any space, and it’s easy to reapply whenever needed. The instructions say to use it in the morning, at night, after a shower, and any time your face gets wet. That’s the only slight drawback I found — especially when applying it to a child. Little ones are always wiping their faces, washing their hands, or somehow managing to get messy, so keeping up with frequent reapplications can be a bit of a challenge!
Each tube contains approximately 150 applications, which sounds quite generous at first, but considering the need to reapply it throughout the day, it could start to run out quicker than expected. At £11.99 per tube, it’s not exactly cheap, and I can imagine the cost adding up if you were using it every single day, particularly during high pollen seasons.
However, I have genuinely noticed a difference since we started using it. When my daughter plays outside in the garden, she doesn’t seem nearly as reactive to pollen as before. She’s sneezing far less, and her nose isn’t running constantly, which is such a relief for both of us. It’s been lovely to see her enjoy being outdoors again without the constant irritation that usually comes with allergy season.
It worked especially well on our day out at Mottisfont. We were surrounded by flowers and tall grass, playing in the fields, and I could easily apply the gel to her nose whenever needed. It was reassuring to know I had something on hand that could help protect her while still letting her enjoy being outside. It feels great to have found an extra layer of defence that supports her throughout the day without having to rely on medication.
Overall, I’ve been really pleased with AllergieBLOCK. It’s practical, safe, and surprisingly effective for something so simple. If you’re looking for a non-drug alternative to manage allergy symptoms — especially for children — I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.
