When it comes to DIY and tools for our house renovations it’s all been down to Kev! I always roll my eyes when he says ‘Oh I need this new tool for this job that needs doing‘ I just think it’s an excuse to get another new tool! A bit like me and shoes! But he’s right, he saves us so much money by doing the jobs around the house himself and not having to get tradesmen in. The cost of the tool is much cheaper and if it means he can complete the job properly then it’s a worthwhile investment.

So when we were invited along to the Ryobi 2019 conference I knew that this was going to be right up Kev’s street, but what I didn’t realise is how much I would enjoy it and that it’s now given me the confidence to have a go at more DIY jobs around the house.

If I can now use a chainsaw then I can’t be scared of any power tool!

A woman in safety gear uses a Ryobi chainsaw to cut a log on a stand under a yellow Ryobi tent at the 2019 conference, whilst a man observes nearby. Wood chips cover the grass, with a large white structure in the background.

Ryobi is a brand that I have worked with a couple of times on the blog, using their electric screwdriver to build my home office noticeboard which I love and then I tried their glue gun to make glue gun snowflakes

Both of these are powered by a battery and this is what Ryobi is all about. Their products are run on batteries but don’t think they won’t be powerful enough to get your jobs done.

We got to put some of their products to the test whilst we were at the Ryobi 2019 conference and we were so surprised by how powerful they were.

Four people use Ryobi leaf blowers to clear leaves from two rectangular raised beds inside a fenced grassy area, with trees and open field in the background on a sunny day.

Ryobi has been developing their batteries for years now and they are outperforming their competitors throughout so many of their products. Kev tried out a competitors brand hedge trimmer and Ryobi’s back to back and he said the power in the Ryobi product was outstanding and there was no resistance when cutting through larger branches.

A man demonstrates a Ryobi chainsaw tool under a white canopy at a conference, surrounded by potted shrubs and a Ryobi display table with wood logs, set against a scenic forest backdrop.

Being able to see the Ryobi products up close and see them in use was so useful and really made me realise that the technology into developing the batteries has improved so much in such a short amount of time, and it’s not stopping. Ryobi is constantly improving its batteries to bring more power and longer lasting.

A showroom displays Ryobi ONE+ cordless power tools, including a chainsaw, on shelves with bright signage and banners. Fairy lights hang from the ceiling, lounge seating is in the background, and floor graphics highlight the 2019 Conference branding.

With the freedom of cordless items comes the different chargers and batteries, there seems to be one for this product and another for a different product. Not with Ryobi! They’ve developed over 100 products with many more in the pipeline that only requires one battery! The ONE+ Range

The same battery can power your power tools

and even your crafting tools!

A woman stands in a well-lit workshop area with various Ryobi power tools, including a chainsaw, displayed on tables. A large red Ryobi sign hangs above a decorated wall showcasing crafts and wooden shapes from the 2019 Conference.

They’ve even developed batteries that are powerful enough to be able to power a ride on lawnmower with a USB port and drinks holder!! Never did I ever think I would be driving a ride on lawnmower, but I tell you what if I’m ever lucky enough to have a garden big I am getting one of these!!

A woman in a pink shirt rides a yellow and black Ryobi lawnmower on a grassy field, with trees and a hay bale visible in the background.

What I loved about the Ryboi 2019 conference was the fact it reignited my passion for making things, crafts in particular. Before the twins I made so much, I would have my sewing machine out all the time and made loads of things for my house.

Ryobi has a great range of crafting tools with more to come too. I enjoyed using the rotary tool to do some glass etching, such a simple way bring a piece of glass to life but would make some great gift ideas too.

A person uses a Ryobi engraving tool to etch a heart shape onto a glass jar. Safety glasses, a Kilner jar, tea lights, and other crafting supplies from the 2019 Conference are on the wooden table.

With the house extension plans, I’m going to take that opportunity to start doing more crafts again. But I don’t think I will stop at crafts, I reckon I can now give so many more things a go! Watch out Kev you may need to share the shed

It’s really good that one battery can power different tools. Isn’t that convenient for us users?
