After a couple of weekends of hard work from me and hubby we have nearly finished our main bedroom renovation.

Just a remind what it looked like…….

main-bedroom-renovation

In my previous main bedroom post I had put together all my ideas and things I wanted, so off I went shopping!

My wallpaper and iSense super soft carpet in warm grey, I cannot tell you how much pleasure this gives me!! It is so soft, shimmery and pure luxury!

My Next Hydrangea wallpaper

So when you look this way around in the room it looks good, now turn around and take a look……

That is where my wardrobes are going! No point painting as it will be covered up with fitted wardrobes.

I currently have the carcases for the wardrobes in now so we are very nearly there!

Going back to my iSense carpet……..the girls loved making ‘carpet angels’ in the carpet and thought this was a very cute photo!

I am already in love with my main bedroom, it is just our space and feels so clean, bright and peaceful.

I have been off to Dreams bed store trying out new beds, looking at light fittings and bedside tables.

I have gone off my original bedside table idea but I cannot decide which style to go for….

Do I go for a curvy silver leggy style bedside table like this from Out Their Interiors

Curvy Bedside Table with Two Drawers (Ella-Michelle)

Or this one from Dunelm Mill

Or a chunkier mirrored effect like this one from Dunelm Mill

Decisions, decisions………

  1. Hi Steph,

Tried to post a comment earlier but I don’t think it got through.

I wanted to ask how this carpet is holding up? Is it still soft? Did you regret buying it? Anything re: stains and such?

    Thanks!

    • Hi, I do still have this carpet, it’s not as soft as it was but we have a small area that is walked on all the time. Stains are easy to get out, I don’t regret buying it at all, I got another one installed in my new lounge

  2. Hi
Great post! Found you by googling I sense.
We are thinking of getting I sense but worried about it flattening our over time.
How has it withstood the test of time 3 years down the line?

    • Hi, it isn’t as soft and yes the places that haven’t been walked on all the time are much softer but I think you would get that with every carpet unless you went for a wool woven style one that is super hard wearing. I am still happy stepping out on this in the morning! Still very soft

  3. Hi, I just wanted to ask you if you are sure the carpet you have bought was from Seduction range. I am definitely buying the Isense carpet as I love them so much. I just really cant decide on the colour. I am decidinig betwen Splendour-Warm Grey and Seduction-Misty. Splendour is less thick I would say and a bit more shimmery and Seduction Misty is thicker and looks more even. That is why I am a bit confussed now because you mentioned in your post that you bought Warm grey from Seduction range but I thought there is no such colour from this range?https://www.burts.co.uk/carpets/isense-sensuality-by-associated-weavers/isense-sensuality-by-associated-weavers-seduction?p=37320&gclid=CjwKEAiA7MWyBRDpi5TFqqmm6hMSJAD6GLeARK1nzJ33PEgRy110R6gjbo8h0c7XAE1p8mV33bZu5hoClFbw_wcB
I would appreciate very much if you could come back to me and resolve this dilema:)
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    • Thanks for your comment, I can’t help you I am afraid! I thought that was the one I purchased, I don’t have a receipt for it anymore as it was about a year ago when I purchased it. They may have changed their colour ranges. In Carpetright they had 3 ranges and I picked the mid range, it is a shimmery carpet and not that thick. Sorry not to help anymore than that!

      • Hi when I was buying After getting inspired from this post, Carpetright seem to have slightly different names then other companies for some colours. Seems they are big enough to command their own color names per range so that people don’t go and buy on the Internet. However, all those colours ARE available in Seduction but will be named differently per range on different websites. Best to ask Burts to send you a small sample colour of what you think may be the same before you buy 😉

  4. Hi, this post has helped me out so much! I have had my eye on the iSence range since we purchased our new home and I am now ready to buy. Please can you tell me if this is the Splendour or Seduction as when I felt the two the Spendour seems so much softer. Thanks X

    • We went for Seduction at £24.99 at the time, I know it wasn’t the most expensive one but still super happy it. Enjoy!

  5. Hello! I am about to order ISENSE Serenity carpet for 5 bedrooms and 2 flights of staircase. I love the silky look and feel of it but since we are about to cover 110 sq m I worry a bit how is it going to perform in the future.
Wool can be eaten by moth, its sheds and not as soft as ISENSE but it was arround for ages and is known for its resilience. Do you thing nylon carpets ( ISense is nylon) can show dirt faster ( not stains but general dirt) and can flaten faster than wool?
I would apritiate your comment! Btw I have 3 kids + untidy husband ( no pets for forseeable future).

    • Thanks for your comment, I would say it is fine for the bedrooms and your really love the softness in the rooms, however I would advise not to have in on the staircase. It is very soft but this makes it very slipperly. Before the furniture went in the kids were running up and down and sliding all over it to make them fall over. I would be worried about the kids on the stairs with it. Also that takes a lot of footfall, you can see in my other blogs that I went for a hardwearing stair carpet and I am so glad I did! Your love it though for the bedrooms, regarding the wear on it I think it is great, a quick hoover and it looks all fluffy again! It does flatten easily with furniture marks on it, but I don’t move my furniture around so I don’t know how well it recovers from them. I love stepping out of bed onto it, so soft and luxurious.

      • Thank you for your reply! I had another chat at the carpet shop today and was advised against using this carpet on stairs so I am going for a traditional 80/20 wool carpet, alas.

    • Hey kate I’ve just come across your message as I was searching for isense serenity carpet…did you buy it in the end?? How is it 5 years on? I really like the carpet but like you I have kids and worry how it will last x

  6. Your post inspired me to go to carpetright today and look at the Isense range and loved them, but they seem to have 3 ranges there by isense. Two of which had that lovely velvety look but one was plainer. I’m hoping it’s the seduction version you have as that felt nice and was priced at £24.99. They also had a more expensive version that looked like longer yarns at £34.95 called serenity, but if you got that and that’s how it looks, I’m going to splash out. Would love to know which versikn is yours as I’m going to buy it for stairs, hallway and of course bedroom 🙂 the wife will get a lovely surprise. One thing though, I have a small French bulldog, and while she’s very clean and doesn’t shed, she occasionally brings in some muddy paws if it’s been raining and I forgot to wipe her feet. Wondering if you ever had to clean it and if it was simple. Thanks again for a wonderful post.

    • Oh how exciting! We went for seduction at £24.99 and it still is amazing! I get everyone to come and touch my bedroom carpet!!! Your wife will be over the moon with it. I have only had to clean a small tea spillage up but it came up fine. Enjoy!

      • Fantastic.. Thank you. We are ordering it 🙂 will also send a before and after lol. If you managed to clean up tea, I will take the risk for the odd bit of possible mud which is certainly easier to clean then tea which can stain far worse. I also noticed that you ended up with curvier bedside tables but in white instead of a silver or mirrored finish. Any regrets on that front? Reading from your blogs you seem to be indecisive on certain things and quite choosy, but when you do decide, you usually get it just right, so I presume you had a reason to end up go with the off white. Just wondering, as we have recently also bought our own home, a lovely cottage at the rural part of North London, and I seem to take ages to work out what to do. I get paranoid of making the wrong decision and then up up which buyers remorse… Sometimes can be even worse with the smaller cheap things. I’m sure you know what I mean… Thank you again for sharing everything and your great writing. Next step for me is lighting choices everywhere, crystal vs plain vs modern vs traditional… arghhhhhhh

        • Yes I am quite indecisive when it comes to design choices, I throw lots of ideas out there and then usually come up with something that works….! Cost does come into it a lot as well. The bedside drawers came up in the NEXT sale and I thought they would work well, I am really pleased with them as they pull in my light and drawers. Your new house sounds lovely, good luck with the changes!

      • Hi there, I have been looking at the isense carpet today & got home & Googled it and of course your page comes up!…wondered how yours is fairing now several months down the line? I am thinking of it for a living room with 2 kids & 2 labradors! your thoughts please!! Thanks

        • I don’t think it would cope very well, it is very soft. I would be lovely in a living room…..if it was just a couple! With kids and 2 dogs I think it would suffer very quickly. It is perfect for a bedroom. It is also slippery under foot which is fine in a bedroom. I LOVE it in my bedroom but would hate it in my living room. I have 3 kids and 1 dog!

  7. Hi
Has your carpet gone flat at all? We have seen this in store today and it is gorgeous but wary of it going flat
    Thanks
    Helen

    • No it hasn’t gone flat. It dents easily when furniture has been on it but it does come out easily. I still love it!

      • Hi. I am doing some research on the carpet you bought, have you got same carpet on the stairs? Does it look ok still? I’ve got 2 young kids and worried it’s too slippery on the stairs ? I really loved it, saw it in carpet Wright a while back and can’t decide on anything else! Thanks& best wishes

        • Hi, yes it would be too slippery on their stairs. I don’t have it on mine but my kids think it is great fun to slide across my bedroom floor (where I have my isense carpet) I love mine in my bedroom, lovely to step out of bed onto in the morning or in the night! Mine is 7 months old now but still looks brand new, however like I said it is in our bedroom.

  8. I think we are. It’s quite hard to imagine what it looks like on a small piece of carpet so your picture helped a lot thanks. We just need to decide on the colour, matching wallpaper, bed etc. Right now, we’re sleeping on a mattress on the floor but its all part of the fun of moving in to a new home!

    • Make sure you take the samples outside, they looked a lot different outside then they did when we were in the showroom. Ah it is all good fun, congratulations on your new home.

  9. Thanks! We went to carpetright to check it out and omg it is soooo soft.

    • It’s amazing isn’t it!! Are you going for it? I love steping out of my bed onto it! Everyone who comes over loves it.

  10. Hi

The carpet looks fab. Would you mind telling me what colour it is and which range did you go for?

    • Oh yes I should pop that up on the post, it is the iSense super soft carpet in warm grey. It is bliss to walk on!
