Another month has gone by and another month of growth in the garden! Our big project last month was getting this screening up and growing the passionflower up it, well it’s still going super well! So much I needed to add some wire to the in-between sections so it has something to grab hold of.

A small outdoor patio in July with a step stool, green leafy plants, and climbing vines on a wooden trellis—perfect for My Garden. A grey fence and blooming flowers complete this tranquil gardening haven under a partly cloudy sky.

This picture shows how much it has grown compared to the next photo which was taken when we put the screening up! Nicely growing past the neighbour’s conservatory now!

A modern outdoor patio with grey wicker furniture, beige cushions, a glass-topped coffee table, potted plants, and blooming garden flowers sits beside a red-brick house with large glass doors—perfect for relaxing in July.

A cream-coloured dog lies on a tiled patio next to a wicker outdoor sofa with grey cushions. In My Garden this June, potted plants flourish, while a closed umbrella and brick house with glass doors complete the tranquil scene under a partly cloudy sky.

Feeding The Birds

I have enjoyed encouraging the birds into the garden so much this year, so I am happy to include anything in my garden that will encourage them more! I have a lovely collection now, that keeps them happy.

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust offered to send me a new bird feeder for me to try out with them, and I loved the look of it.

A box labelled Singing Friend Hello Lisa Bird Feeder sits on a white ledge outdoors, surrounded by lush garden plants and purple flowers. The box shows an image of a round bird feeder hanging from a tree branch.

Made from a ceramic ball, you can fill it with a variety of feed for them which encourages a range of garden birds.

Hung from a wire loop it’s easy to hang from a branch or a bird feeder like I have.

A round, grey, ceramic birdhouse with a large circular opening hangs from a black cord among bright green leaves in a lush July garden setting.

I filled mine with fat balls as my garden birds are obsessed with these!

A round, grey hanging bird feeder with a large opening contains several fat balls. Perfect for July gardening, it is suspended by a black cord and hook, with lush green leaves in the background.

As you can see I have quite a collection of feeders now, but I am loving how modern this one is. The range is called the SigningFriend range, which has quite a few different coordinating items to help encourage the birds into your garden.

A wooden post with three hanging bird feeders, filled with seeds and suet balls, stands in front of lush green foliage—an inviting scene for this month's My Garden July gardening update.

The Hot Tub Is Working Again!

A back garden in July with a round hot tub, outdoor dining table, barbecue, flower beds, a shed, and a blue slide. A dog relaxes on the grass amid lush greenery—perfect for monthly gardening in this fenced retreat.

After about 7 weeks wait we have a new pump for the hot tub! It broke under warranty, so we had to claim, but as everyone wanted hot tubs over the lockdown, they were pretty busy!!

We’ve had some lovely times in there, I like it in the evening when the garden lights are all on and it’s peaceful.

Seeds

Here are my seedlings from last month, I’ve grown these on my window sill during the lockdown and my first time growing flowers from seed.

Green plants with pointed leaves and fine, feathery foliage grow side by side in soil, thriving in a June garden. Brown, wispy grass forms the background, highlighting the healthy and vibrant appearance of these lush plants.

Fruit Trees

The fruit trees are getting closer and closer to being ripe!

Wildlife In The Garden

I’ve been watching the different types of wildlife and insets we’ve been getting in the garden this month, as it’s super important for the life circle of everything to have them in our gardens. By having these plants and places for them to hide, you’re playing your part to help out.

So I tried to capture the ones I could!

I love watching the bees working away, I find it very soothing and good for my mental health, as it switches you off from everything whilst they’re so busy. I find being in the garden and nature helps my mental health for sure, I couldn’t be without it now.

Flowers That Are Growing In The Garden

It’s lovely to see the flowers blooming so well, but there isn’t too many new ones coming out now. I need to think of Autumn flowering plants in the garden, as I don’t have many that last until Autumn.

Pom pom poppy we sprinkled from seeds!

A white Gladioli from the Seed Pantry box I received for a Mothers Day gift in my guide. Look how amazing it is!

This is my ‘wedding rose’ I’ve been trying to find a deep burgundy rose since we got married 12 years ago! I spotted it on Instagram and had to get it ordered! So hopefully it’s similar to ours when it blooms……so close!

Another David Austin Rose bloomed, this is growing up the shed and will eventually cover it.

This verbena self-seeds, but I thought the original plant had died, so was surprised when this grow!

I love how these look like Butterflies

This rose starts off orange colour like this, and then changes to the pink one behind!

I love looking out on my flower bed planter as I’m sat on the sofa. It really has filled up this year with all the little seeds I grow!

BBQ and Fire Pit

We got out the fire pit this year, it’s not something we ever got into using, but as it was Tyler’s birthday I thought it would be fun to make smores with them!

We also got a little BBQ area made!

This is what it looked like in April this year. So it’s great to have this little area finished off. We dug it out lower than the grass, placed weed membrane over it and then covered with the stones from the patio. It’s perfect to keep the BBQ out of the way from the patio and right next to where the outdoor table will go.

I find the garden so relaxing to be in, and I am so glad we have put so much effort into it and changed it from this………

garden before

Then this…….

So I hope you liked a little look around the garden and what’s going on. I think gardens are constantly changing, so see you next month!

  1. I love your signpost to hold the bird feeders. It looks fabulous. We made our own fat balls this week by rolling oats in the fat that was left over from our roasting joint. It seemed to have worked well and the birds are enjoying them.

  2. Everything Enchanting Reply

I love gardening but since we live in a rented flat here, we don’t have space to grow plants. I love that bird feeder, will inform my Dad about it so that he can get one of these for my paternal home ☺.

  3. Oh wow, it looks amazing! I would love to have fruit trees and a nice sitting area in our garden, but it’s a shared garden , so we have to make do with a picnic table and a rhubarb patch.
