When we were renovating our garden last year we came across a large number of stones, it looks like the previous owner had edged the garden in them so we needed to find some uses for them.
I wanted to add a noughts and crosses game in the garden for the children in their play area.
Being outside in the garden they needed to be a bit more hard-wearing so these stones were perfect for this.
I used acrylic paint for the noughts and crosses and to paint the grid on the board.
For the board I used a plain patio slab and put in position under the climbing frame.
The great thing about this craft is the children can do everything.
Method
Pick out 9 large stones that are flat enough to paint and to lay flat on the grid.
Wash off the stones
Draw your noughts and crosses
Then paint away in what every colours they want!
Paint your grid on your plain patio slab
Enjoy your game!
