Pergolas are similar to marmite. You either love or hate them. Some people think traditional pergolas are stunning and look fabulous in any garden whilst others believe they are not practical structures that don’t serve any purpose. Where do you stand?
I’ve always been a bit in the middle. Pergolas look nice but they don’t offer enough protection to be practical so I never gave them much thought. However, my thoughts on pergolas completely changed when I found out about modern pergolas – innovative pergolas with retractable roofs that offer the ultimate balance between function and style.
Designer Shade Solutions Retractable Roofs Sydney create custom modern pergolas for commercial spaces and houses across Australia. They also have offices in Ireland and England. Today, I’ve partnered up with Designer Shade Solutions to share some of the benefits of these modern pergolas.
Suitable for any weather
These modern pergolas feature retractable roofs, making them suitable for any weather. As The Olivers Madhouse explains, “The roof can be easily closed if it starts to rain, can be opened to fully enjoy the sun or for some shade, it can be tilted. This is something you can’t get from traditional pergolas.” So, no matter the weather, no matter if it’s super sunny or pouring outside, you can still be outside. What else do you need?
Can be installed anywhere
Modern pergolas are available as standalone structures which can be installed anywhere. You can install pergolas in the middle of your garden as a lovely centerpiece, in the corner of your patio to define an outdoor dining space, or attached to your property as an extension to your living space.
When attached to your home, modern pergolas offer a seamless transition from indoor living to outdoor living, making your home living flow perfectly. Plus, as these can be customised with heating, lighting, and side glass screens to create an indoor/outside room, you can have the best of both worlds – the comfort of an indoor space whilst enjoying your outdoor views.
Sparkles and Stretchmarks believes that these are the “perfect addition to any outdoor space, whether it is a home or a commercial space, retractable roof pergolas will guarantee that you can use your outdoor space all year round.” I would have to agree! These modern pergolas are fantastic additions to any outdoor space, offering shade, style, and adding value to any property!
