Do you love saving money on your home renovation? Well, I think I know the answer to that one, a big YES! When we were going through our big home renovation there were many high street shops where you couldn’t save any money, or ever find some cashback deals, but you had to purchase that item or materials from that shop. Well, JamDoughnut can help you save money on home Renovations by earning cashback at stores like B&Q, Screwfix, Carpetright and IKEA. I’m now thinking of all the money I could have earned if I had this cashback app when spent so much in B&Q and IKEA!

How Does JamDoughnut Work?
The JamDoughnut app works by you purchasing gift vouchers for your chosen retailer, and spending the exact amount of money you would normally, but instead of using your debit card to purchase the items, you use your pre-purchased gift card from JamDoughnut to pay for the items. It would be no different than if you had received a gift voucher for a birthday gift.
For example – You would like to purchase some new furniture from IKEA this weekend, you knew how much it was going to come to as you had totalled it up on the IKEA website beforehand. You could either purchase these items online and enter the gift code details at the checkout. If you were visiting the IKEA store to purchase your items, you just have your gift voucher scanned at the checkout to pay, instead of using your debit card.
So you’re spending the same amount of money, but your earning a percentage of cashback instantly when you purchased your gift card. The current rate for IKEA on the JamDoughnut app is 2%.
IKEA furniture spent £500 = £10 cashback (1000 JamDoughnut points )

What Are Pumped Up Offers on JamDoughnut
If you’re planning on making some large purchases, then keep an eye out for the pumped up offers that JamDoughnut offer. This is when they up the cashback rates at a much higher amount for a certain amount of time. What I liked about this is that they give a countdown timer on this offer too, so you can see when this offer is running out, so you can make an informed decision on your purchase, and no when you have until.
If you were making large purchases like the IKEA furniture one, you would increase your cashback by a good amount.
Instant Cashback From JamDoughnut
No waiting around! This is a really big plus side of JamDoughnut, there is no waiting around for cashback to be approved which is usually months after purchases, and then sometimes these can end up in missing claims. You don’t have this with JamDoughnut as you have purchased your gift card there and then, so you’re entitled to the cashback straight away.
Instantly arrive in my account as you can see from my timestamps in this photo.
It Can Be Used Instore and Not Just Online
Other cashback sites only offer cashback when you click their links and purchase items online, but with JamDoughnut you can often use the gift cards online and in-store as well. This is great for any shopping you’re doing out and about, as you can quickly purchase a gift card for the store you are in, and still get cashback.
Some retailers have restrictions on how much you can spend at one time, like the Sainsburys one. We do one big shop every week, and as the max is £50 per transaction to be used as a gift card, I could buy as many shops as I am going to do that month upfront at the start of the month. Then each week I use £50 worth of the shop using the gift card, what is left on the gift card can be used at a later date.
Example – x5 weekly shops in one month after payday = £250 / Gift card purchased for £250 for Sainsbury’s = I receive £5 (500 points) for 2% cashback.
If I was doing that all year it would earn me £52 cashback each year on food shops I was already doing, and spending that money. Maybe more if they offer pumped up offer at any time.
Your Everyday Shops Are on JamDoughnut
When you first log into JamDoughnut you will be shocked to see your normal range of shops on there, often online cashback sites have some random shops that you don’t often shop at, so you don’t want to sign up and then wait months for your money to be paid out, or even never reach the payout stage. With shops you often shop at anyway, will mean you will easily earn cashback quickly to reach your payout of £10. The high street shops like these listed below are so useful, but there are many many more than this!
- ASDA
- Morrison
- Tesco’s
- Sainsbury’s
- Wickes
- B&Q
- IKEA
- Argos
- TK Max
- Costa
- Currys
- Air BnB
- New Look
- JD Sports
- ASOS
- M&S
- Aldi
- Primark
The ones that stood out to me as someone who loves home renovations and DIY projects were the ones below!
Being able to earn cashback on home renovations is a massive plus. Home renovations are so costly, and the cost of materials has shot right up. So being able to earn cashback on JamDoughnut for our home renovations is super exciting! I can just imagine how much money we would have saved if I had JamDoughnut installed on my phone for every time I visited B&Q and Wickes!
I recommend you add a list of your favourite stores and favourite online accounts in the JamDougnut account as you can then quickly access the popular brands that you use quickly when you are out and about, this makes it so easy to purchase a gift certificate when you’re already out shopping, this is great if you don’t have time to check for the best deals around, or use your regular cashback apps. This way you can purchase a particular gift card and know you are getting some sort of cash out on this shop.
Some Brands Aren’t On Cashback Sites and Others Often Offer Higher Cashback Rates
You will find a lot of the brands on JamDoughnut aren’t even normally seen on other cashback sites, I’ve never seen IKEA on cashback sites, so being able to earn back on IKEA shopping is amazing! I could have earned so much money on all my IKEA hacks and furniture purchases from there!
I was also quite surprised about how many retailers have higher cashback than you would normally get at other online cashback sites. Normally you wouldn’t be able to earn anything from a Sainsbury’s shop, but using JamDoughnut you can earn a little bit back on our weekly shop. Then you look into certain retailers that might be on online cashback sites, like Currys, on the day I wrote this that rates were currently this…..
JamDoughnut was 4% and Quidco’s standard rate was 0.75%
I purchased a slow cooker from Currys the other day, I could have earned £2.80 cashback on that! But do make sure you check different places as they may have offers for specific items and increase rates for different items.
Can Use Discount Codes As Well As JamDoughnut Cashback
Check the terms and conditions for each retailer you choose, but you can also still earn your loyalty points and use other vouchers when making purchases, so you can save even more money with your purchases. The terms and conditions stated on Quidco you can’t use their cashback if you are using a gift card for purchasing your items, so I don’t think you will be able to stack up your cashback.
There is currently an offer for 3 for 2 paint at B&Q, you could purchase 3 different paints, pay for 2 and then earn 2% cashback on that purchase as well!
How To Pay For Gift Cards Through JamDoughnut App
When it comes to buying your gift card you can either choose Google Pay/Apple Pay or bank transfer which directs you to your banking app and you pay directly from your bank account. You don’t link your bank to this app, it just directs it to your own banking app for you to check out the payment. I’ve not experienced anything like that before, but JamDoughnut reassure you on the website by stating the following
‘JamDoughnut is committed to consumer privacy. We don’t sell your data. We don’t store your card or bank details and we use secure 3rd party card and bank processing services who use highly secure tokenization and vaulting systems.
If you choose to use the banking app you get the full cashback rate, but if you use Google Pay then you get a reduced rate, I presume this is a way of JamDoughnut saving money on transaction fee on credit cards, but it does make it really quick payment method and simple to use. See these examples here of the cashback rates.
Once you’ve taken payment for your gift card, the gift card is in your account straight away, with no hanging around for points to be added or gift cards to be issued. I did however notice TESCO has a note on there to say they could take a little longer to issue their gift, so do check beforehand.
How To Use The Gift Cards From JamDoughnut
Once you have purchased your gift card it will be stored in your JamDoughnut wallet in your JamDoughnut account, you can then access this whenever you need and use it like you would a normal gift card.
I have used mine in TKMax, and it just has the gift code numbers to be taken at the till by the cashier, and it was very straightforward. I purchased these beautiful vases for my garden cut flowers, in my pinks and blues to match my interiors.
I also picked up a set of 5 storage boxes for my utility room cupboards to keep them neater.
You can see from my receipt for the items the cost of them together, the gift card used to pay and I am also lucky as my son works at TKMax so he purchased these for me with his 10% discount. But that shows you can also get discounts on top of your purchases, and the gift cards are just used like you would cash.
Checking The Gift Card Balance
You can keep track of your gift card balance within the JamDoughnut cashback app, by looking at the gift certificates section and updating the balance of the gift card, you can see I spent £23XX in TKMax, used my £20 voucher and paid the remaining balance with my card, so I now don’t have anything left and I can update this to 0 or archive this gift certificate.
More Chances To Win Prizes
In the JamDoughnut app, there is a ‘Daily Doughnut’ Section where you can win prizes, see deals find discount codes, and a voucher code for retailers on top of getting your cashback.
Also, a section for a £100 daily giveaway, each referral code featured that day wins £10 (1000 points) so make sure you check in daily to see if you’re a winner!
So What Do I Overall Think Of JamDoughnut Cashback App?
I am quite impressed with JamDoughnut, I think it’s like any cashback website you need to get into a habit of using them, but what I really love about JamDoughnut is the ability to get cashback from shops I normally shop at regularly, and everyday purchases. Like my main shops for our weekly food shop is a big bonus and a great way to make free cash and still be able to earn a good cashback amount on my online shopping. It makes me really believe I will be able to build up the cashback quite quickly using it for my grocery shopping, and it will be good to get an extra £10 added to my bank account! When I have reached my cash out I will update this post with feedback on how easy this is, but I really don’t think it will be hard, nothing else is hard on JamDoughnut and all seems very straightforward.
I think this might end up being one of my favourite cashback apps and I will be adding it to my money-saving apps folder on my phone! This is a great way of keeping all of your best cashback apps in one place, you can quickly look in here before you make any purchases. Picking out which is the best one to use each time you purchase something, but now it won’t just be online shopping I can check to see about saving money.
I hope you found my JamDoughnut review helpful, but don’t forget to use my referral code WWRS to get an extra £2 added to your account on sign up.
Don’t forget after all that hard work renovating your home, you can treat yourself to a meal out and still earn reward points for treating yourself! Plenty of food places as well to earn cashback too!
